It’s that time of year when we start getting asked: “Why is smoke backing up into my room from my stove?”
One possible culprit is a cold plug – cold air sitting in your chimney or flue and stopping the smoke from rising properly.
Alanah’s top tip? Start small. Use a firelighter and begin with a smaller flame to gently warm the flue and get the draw moving in the right direction before building up your fire.
