Hello everyone and thank you for all your kind comments and good wishes.
It has been a long hard journey but I have enjoyed every minute of serving you all and trying to make sure that everyone who came through the door left with a smile on their face. If I were a 27 year old as I proclaim to be, the business would never have beaten me but I am not and the pressures of modern business and the amount of work required were just becoming too much.
My best wishes go to all the businesses in the town and my upmost admiration for all who keep going though workload and pressure. I have run a business through a recession but these times are unprecedented with pressure from the job market and the enormous increase in our operating costs and the ability to keep raising prices on our customers is just not practical.
In order to stay I would need to reduce my staff levels reducing my service levels, reduce the quality and quantity of my food and increase my prices undermining all of the principles that I have set for the business.
My thanks go to all of you that have supported the cafe over the years and my biggest regret is that I didn’t get to thank you all personally but the last few months were difficult enough.
I would also like to thank Brewery Square and in particular Robert Ackland who has supported the business all the way through and I regret the way in which it ended.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to seeing you on the streets of Dorchester and please don’t be offended if I am rude to you as I know it will be unexpected. 😁
Paul
