🎶 SATURDAY NIGHT – NORTHERN SOUL RETURNS 🎶

Following a great first night, we’re looking forward to another evening of Northern Soul at The Brass Lamp this Saturday.

Tom from Rock-A-Buy Records in Oakham will be bringing along a box of Northern Soul vinyl with plenty to choose from, so expect some classic sounds and a few forgotten gems throughout the evening.

The competition budget doesn’t quite stretch to genuine Northern Soul originals, but Tom has managed to source some Northern Soul compilation albums for us to give away.

Fancy winning one?

Simply tell us in the comments your favourite Northern Soul tune – or even a soul-inspired song – and we’ll put all the names into the hat and spin for a winner. The lucky winner can collect their prize from Tom on Saturday night.

Roger will be on hand for another relaxed evening of live music at The Brass Lamp.

Bring along whatever instrument you fancy — guitar, ukulele, harmonica, banjo, saxophone, tambourine, cajón, or even just your singing voice. Or simply pull up a chair, grab a beer and enjoy the tunes. The choice is yours.

Next Saturday June 13th 🎶

After so many people asked for another one, our Northern Soul Night returns to The Brass Lamp next Saturday, 13th June, from 7pm.

Tom from Rock-A-Buy Records will be joining us once again with a box full of Northern Soul vinyl, and you can help shape the evening by picking some of the tunes.

With a bit of luck the weather will be kind and we can make use of the garden as well. ☀️

Whether you’re a lifelong soul fan or just fancy a few drinks and some great music, come along and join us for a relaxed Saturday evening.

A big thank you to everyone who came along to our Caribbean Evening. 🇯🇲

We had some fantastic food from Kara, plenty of Red Stripe and a great selection of reggae tunes courtesy of our guest DJ for the evening, Pez. A really enjoyable night all round.

Congratulations as well to Ricky and Becky, who each picked up one of our Simply Quaffable Brass Lamp T-shirts for sporting the best Caribbean shirts of the evening.

No rest for us though, as we head straight into next week and our Northern Soul Night on Saturday 13th.

Quite a few people have been asking when we were doing another one, so here it is. If you fancy an evening of Northern Soul and Motown classics, come and join us from 7pm.

little taste of the Caribbean at The Brass Lamp this evening 🇯🇲

Red Stripe is on the bar, Kara is serving up curried goat, jerk chicken and more from 5pm, and there’ll be plenty of reggae classics spinning on vinyl throughout the evening.

Expect a bit of Bob Marley, T***s & The Maytals, Desmond Dekker, Jimmy Cliff and whatever else finds its way onto the turntable.

Nothing too fancy. Just good food, cold beer, great music and good company.

🌴 This Friday we’re doing something a little different at The Brass Lamp 🌴

We have some Caribbean street food on offer from 5pm, with Kara serving up Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat and a few island-inspired favourites, while we’ll be putting a few records on and creating a bit of a Caribbean soundtrack for the evening.

If you’ve got a bright shirt tucked away somewhere, stick it on. There’ll be a prize for the best one on the night.

A bit of Caribbean food, a few drinks, some great music and a relaxed start to the weekend.

‼️ Jam Session Cancelled Tonight ‼️

Unfortunately, due to a work commitment, Roger is unable to make tonight’s (Thursday) Jam Session.

Apologies for the late notice, but these things sometimes can’t be helped.

We’ll be back as normal next Thursday, and the Jam Sessions will resume then.
