We're very proud to report that our beautiful Stalybridge Buffet Bar & B**rhouse has been named in The Guardian's 10 Best Railway Pubs in England. Well deserved, we think (though we may be biased), and in there with some brilliant railway pubs.

West Riding B**rhouse also gets a mention. Well done to our fantastic teams looking after travellers and locals alike!

Did anyone spot The Sportsman B**rhouse in the Yorkshire Post this weekend in a lovely piece covering 'Take a Walk on the Mild side'.

This exhibition & book is available Salts Mill by photographer Ian Beesley and Barnsley poet Ian McMillan looks at the mental & physical benefits of taking walks to the pub in the industrial towns & cities of the north.

The book features both The Sportsman Stalybridge Buffet Bar & B**rhouse and we can't wait to get our hands on one. The subject matter we wholeheatedly agree upon.

It was great to welcome Ian McMillan and Ian Beesley to The Sportsman yesterday for a photoshoot for The Yorkshire Post.

We're excited to announce the launch of our new series of caricature b**rs each one celebrating a member of our team here at B**rhouses.

First up we have Kipperoo's Brew, a fruity Raspberry Blonde in honour of our finance director aka Kipper, who today turns 50 and is off celebrating in true Kipperoo style.

Look out for it across our pubs in the very near future.

It's CAMRA Good B**r Guide launch day and we're proud to announce that once again all 5 of our b**r pubs feature in the guide. By our calculations that's a combined 97 years (we think!).

Well done to The County B**rhouse, The Cricketers B**rhouse, The Sportsman B**rhouse, Stalybridge Buffet Bar & B**rhouse & West Riding B**rhouse. Look out for pictures of smiling managers putting a sticker on their doorway soon...

We are delighted to be featured in The Good B**r Guide 2027!!

This is the 4th year we have been included in the b**r guide since we have opened alongside some other cracking venues across Huddersfield and across the UK

The Good B**r Guide has 54 editions highlighting boozers and venues that sell an exceptional pint and we are over the moon to be one of them in this edition

If you was listening to BBC Leeds yesterday you may have heard us getting a mention or two as both Huddersfield International Crisp Festival ft The Sportsman B**rhouse and BluesburyFestival at West Riding B**rhouse featured.

We know you're not going to believe it but there are NO, and we repeat NO, planned engineering works on the Transpennine route this week for the first time in what seems to have been months. (It has been months).

So you can Ale Trail, get the train to the football or have a day out on an actual train throughout this weekend.

*For one weekend only though as the engineering works at Huddersfield station then return throughout September*

We're helping celebrate 2026 with Historic England Charles Smith who is running a Heritage pub walk & talk across Huddersfield.

We've teamed up with and based on a historical recipe we have brewed a version of Hammonds Prize Winning Pale from the 1950s, as they were the original owners of The Sportsman B**rhouse and the H features in the windows of the pub. Hence the name H of this Historical Huddersfield brewed b**r for a Heritage event.

The walk is fully booked but the b**r will be on sale whilst stocks last throughout all our pubs in September so check it out whilst you can.
