👮‍♀️ Community Engagement Update 👮‍♂️
Tonight, PCSOs Smith and Haworth had a fantastic time visiting one of our local Scout groups, speaking with both the Beavers and Cubs about policing in the community. We talked about what we do day-to-day, how we help people, and importantly, how they can approach us if they ever need support.
The young people asked some brilliant questions, showed great enthusiasm, and even got hands-on—trying on parts of the uniform and experiencing the blue lights and sirens 🚓✨
Meanwhile, our Youth Engagement Team have been busy delivering a series of events at schools across Derby, starting at Landau Forte. These sessions focus on our Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) campaign, helping to raise awareness of this important issue from a young age.

It's been a busy few days for the team!

Yesterday PCSOs Smith and Haworth attended multiple businesses around Allestree to check in and discuss issues in the local area. They also popped into the Community Cafe at St Nicks Church to say hello to some of our lovely local residents.

This morning they attended one of our local children's homes to spend some time building positive relationships with the young people, and also conducted some rainy patrols around the University of Derby and Markeaton Park.

Today, as part of Op Sceptre, the team visited Park Farm to host a pop-up event. 🚓
It was great to meet and chat with so many residents, listen to concerns, and offer advice and reassurance. Of course, we also handed out a few freebies along the way! 🎁
A big thank you to Park Farm for hosting us – we really appreciate the support. We hope to be back soon for more events like this.

A number of suspects have been arrested after a significant amount of cash, gold and silver bullion and suspected drugs were discovered during a series of search warrants across Derby.

Officers from across numerous departments including the Criminal Exploitation Team, Task Force, Dog Section and Derby West Safer Neighbourhood Team executed three warrants in Kingsley Road, Allestree, Duffield Road, Darley and Lyndhurst Street, Derby on Tuesday 12 May.

We discovered a large amount of suspected drugs hidden in the rafters of a brick outbuilding, plus more than £35,000 cash and in excess of £40,000 worth of gold and silver bullion. In addition, 28 mobile phones were seized.

Seven people were arrested in connection with a number of offences including modern slavery, being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, money laundering, r**e and threats to kill.

Three men (aged 33, 34 and 58) and four women (aged 29, 31, 32 and 54) were arrested and bailed with conditions whilst enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Chris Ford, who leads the Criminal Exploitation Team, said: “This was a significant operation involving several policing teams working together to carry out warrants at multiple different locations.

“Members of the public may have seen a significant police presence in the area for the day of action, which has yielded numerous arrests and led to the recovery of a large amount of suspected drugs and cash, all of which will support our ongoing investigation.

“I would like to encourage members of the public to continue to look out for the signs of modern slavery and to report any suspicious activity relating to this type of crime to police so we can take action.”

| CCTV released after delivery driver has car stolen in Derby

We have released CCTV images of a number of people we would like to speak with after a delivery driver had his car stolen in Derby.

The driver got out of his car and was about to deliver a pizza to a home when he was approached from behind by another man in Merchant Street, Darley, at about 3.35am on Tuesday 12 May.

The suspect threatened the victim and told him to hand over the keys to his vehicle – a Toyota Yaris – which he did.

After the robbery, the suspect then drove off in the car. The Yaris was later found and recovered.

The suspect is described as a white man, aged about 20, who was 5ft 5ins tall with a skinny build and was wearing lighter coloured trousers and a black hoody.

We have released a CCTV image of a man we are tracing in relation to the incident.

Officers have also released two images of a man and a woman who were in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident taking place.

We appreciate the images are not the clearest but are hoping someone may be able to recognise who the people are from their clothing.

Anyone who knows who the people pictured are should please contact us using one of the methods below and quote reference number 26*272485.
