PipTree cafe is the new addition to long established garden centre Collyers Nurseries. Serving coffee and cakes, breakfast, brunch and lunch and providing both inside and outside dining. All our cakes, scones are homemade and we use local produce wherever possible.

Part-Time Kitchen Porter

Job Title: Part-Time Kitchen Porter
Location: Piptree Cafe Borrowash
Hours: Part-time, including weekends and holidays as required, seasonal May to September
Salary: competitive rates

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our café team. You will play an important role in keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and running smoothly while supporting chefs and front-of-house staff during busy service periods.

Key Responsibilities

* Washing dishes, utensils, pots, and kitchen equipment
* Keeping kitchen and storage areas clean and hygienic
* Assisting with basic food preparation when required
* Emptying bins and maintaining waste disposal areas
* Restocking supplies and helping with deliveries
* Following food hygiene and health & safety standards
* Supporting the kitchen team during busy periods

Requirements

* Positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Good time management and teamwork skills
* Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
* Previous kitchen or cleaning experience is helpful but not essential
