R.I.P our Queen :(
A very sad day. Our thoughts are with all her family. RIP. 😪
Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II
I and the Woodlore team wish to convey our heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family at this sad time.
The passing of Her Majesty the Queen is the most profound loss to our nation, indeed to the world. No more will we be blessed by her warm kindly smile, her crystal voice, her constant presence in our lives. Resolutely steadfast in her sense of duty, Queen Elizabeth II was the greatest, wisest, and most beloved of Britain’s monarchs. With the most unremitting work ethic she strove daily to earn the respect of her subjects.
Unmovable despite the tumult of political currents and world events, she became a mighty rock that stands in the wildest river rapid, in this way she provided a secure rallying point for her subjects that rose above the mundanity of political self-interest, epitomising instead the very best of British virtues, encouraging all to a higher ideal - to strive to make the world a better place. In this she provided a radiant example of true leadership, her very existence was a beacon of hope that drew admirers from all corners of the world. Humility, tolerance, and compassion were the hallmarks of her reign. In our lives we witnessed her stoic fortitude through times of extraordinary difficulty, by the example of her courage and resolve we learned that in times of national crisis she would always be there weathering the storm beside us, she was utterly reliable.
Having had the great privilege to meet her, I was struck by her grace and charm, the depth of her knowledge, her humour, and her rapier wit. But mostly, I will remember the way her eyes brightened when we discussed the wonders of the natural world. She was clearly a devoted lover of nature and of the outdoors life.
As we stand today bowed by the sadness of our loss, let no one be in any doubt, we are not weakened by our Queen’s passing, for we have been shaped and strengthened by her example for over seventy years, she is become the spirit of the nation and lives now eternally within all our hearts and our minds - we shall strive now to honour the example, and the vision of Queen Elizabeth the Great.
As the baton passes on there is only one more thing to say.
God save the King.
With our sincerest wishes Ray and Ruth Mears, the Woodlore team and all Woodloreans.
