✨ On Sunday 28th June, I won’t be able to fulfil any orders as I’ll be attending my very first wedding venue open day at Allington Castle in Maidstone! 💍🏰

I’ll be showcasing my French inspired Bridal Breakfast & Brunch Boxes and sharing how they can add a special touch to a wedding morning.

This is a huge milestone for Afternoon Pause, and I’m incredibly excited to take this first step into the wedding industry. ❤️

💍🥐 Our first Bridal Brunch 🥐💍

I was so excited to receive these photos from a lovely customer this weekend 📸

This French-inspired brunch was created for 10 guests on the morning of a wedding at Reach Court, with the bridal party getting ready together at St Margaret’s Holiday Park before the celebrations began.

The menu included a selection of pastries, breakfast muffins, salmon bagels, sausage rolls, homemade bread, crêpes and French toasts to keep everyone fuelled throughout the morning.

✨ The same four ingredients… two very different cakes ✨

One of the things I love most about baking French classics is how a few simple ingredients can create something completely different.

These two bakes both start with the same four essentials:

🥚 Eggs
🧈 Butter
🌾 Flour
🍬 Sugar

Yet one becomes a madeleine ;light, delicate and shell-shaped), while the other becomes a traditional quatre-quarts cake (rich, buttery and wonderfully comforting).

The difference isn’t in the ingredients themselves, but in the proportions, the mixing method and the way they’re baked.

💙 Afternoon Pause with Dad 🚴💙

When creating my very first Afternoon Pause with Dad box, I asked my husband (and the father of our little boy!) for inspiration as I wanted this box to include the kind of treats that dads genuinely enjoy. So I've tried to bring some of those favourites together in our special Father's Day selection.

I've also added a couple of French-inspired touches, including a Croque Monsieur (I couldn't resist the name for a Father's Day box! 😄). Much to my husband's disappointment, I decided to swap the BLT for Tuna and sweetcorn after testing the box, as it travels much better and stays fresh for longer! 😄

We visited Mount Ephraim Gardens yesterday for a family day out ☀️ so of course I had to pack my picnic boxes with us 🥪 Freshly prepared brioche sandwich, homemade cookies, and ready to bring along and enjoy wherever the day takes you 🌿
It really made lunch in these stunning gardens much easier 👌🏻
