We at Popup Cafe love food and think it’s a really important part of life. However we are aware that not everyone has the same level of access and opportunity that we do. As part of our desire to share our belief in the value of a healthy food culture; we are trying to raise funds to bring ‘Bags of Taste’ to Deal and Dover.
This national organisation works to transform lives by empowering people to make long lasting changes to their diets and be financially resilient for life.
In the Deal and Dover district there are areas where one in three children are living in absolute poverty, with almost a third of school children Dover receiving free school meals*
This project finds sixty individuals or families facing multiple challenges — such as poor health, disability, long‑term unemployment or insecure housing — and facilitates a mentored home cooking course directly in their homes, supporting the cooking of nutritious, whole meals from scratch.
We are hoping some of our wonderful Popup followers can help us raise £3,000 out of the £6,600 required for the project to run.
