We are Changania, a new community interest café looking to provide a safe space for people of colour and LGBTQ+ people as well as increase the vegan options in Northampton.
Changania means ‘mixed’ or ‘blended’, this captures our values as the people we want to support have a mix of different identities and needs.
Northampton has such a vibrant diversity that we want to serve and especially since the rising cost of living, it has become harder for people to leave their house during the day.
Our goal is to provide a hub where people can get affordable food, have a place where they’re not pressured into paying for services or rushed to leave and ultimately, able to access support they need.
We want to provide a place where you can go to seek out the services you need in a safe way.
Our team are members, and allies, of the communities we want to serve. When you come in to our café, they’ll not only help you out with your order but they will be able to guide to other places and resources to support you with the help you need.
We will work with partners who provide amazing services that people need to make sure that they can be as accessible to you as possible. We will invite our partners into Changania so that they can: get to know you better and offer direct support for you.
We want to host events that matter to you, we want to be part of the vibrant culture of Northampton, its events and festivals.
We also want to empower you to hold support groups or special interest clubs without the barriers at our venue.
