For all you music lovers still nursing that Glasto-shaped hole in your calendar come drown your sorrows with us instead, because it’s a weekend of FREE live music at The Sail Loft.

Weds 7th Oct - Midweek Eats: buy 2 pizzas or 2 sliders & get a portion of fries FREE. Too good to pass up!

Thurs 8th Oct - Thirsty Thursday: buy 2 glasses of rosé & get the rest of the bottle free. The sun is set to make a comeback, so let’s keep rosé season rolling a little longer!

Fri 9th Oct - Live Music with Giles Nuttall, 7pm. A firm favourite & Sail Loft regular, Giles is back to kick the weekend off in style, so grab a table in the bar & settle in for the evening.

Sat 10th Oct - Sunset Social Club, 6.30pm-10.30pm. They’re back for round two after a summer spent DJing some of the Southwest’s best venues, & this time they’re taking over our very own “Pyramid Stage”. Expect a slow & relaxed start that builds into a full-on, fun-filled night, the perfect way to see the weekend out.

And don’t forget, our evening food menu is available from 5pm, & it’s not just pizzas & sliders! There are plenty of delicious lite bites on offer for your delectation.

Every day - Happy Hour 3-5pm & 9-10pm: 2 cocktails for £15. And our spritz menu is still going strong too, long may the sun shine!

We have just returned from a fabulous w**e trip to the Rioja region, & it was non-stop touring, tasting, tapas & laughter!

Huge thanks to our wonderful w**e supplier Dave Azam at Ellis Wines for hosting, & to our fellow w**e customers Georgie & Alan from The Green Dragon, Stoke Fleming, The Maltsters Arms, Tuckenhay & The Cotley Inn, Wambrook for making it such a fun crew.

What a business trip!!

The Taron Rioja we stock in the bar is still our firm favourite (& Rupert definitely wasn’t spitting that one out in the last photo!).

Autumn has landed at The Sail Loft, and we’re LOVING it

Golden days, cosy evenings, & we just had that gorgeous Harvest full moon lighting up the River. The sun’s still putting in a shift too, the perfect excuse for one more afternoon on the balcony or our Sunny courtyard, before we properly cosy in for the evening

And now with Autumn well & truly here, there’s nothing better than settling in with one of our yummy hot chocolates, a proper coffee or a pot of tea, alongside one of Freya’s freshly baked treats. Served from 3pm Wednesday to Friday, & from midday on Saturdays, the perfect excuse to pop in & say hi.

Dartmouth Food Festival is one of the highlights of our year, 3 days celebrating the best food, drink & talent the South West has to offer, right here on our doorstep. And we’re proud to be back as a headline sponsor for another year!

Once again we’re throwing open our doors for a whole weekend (plus one very special Thursday night next week) of DartmouthFoodFestival events, tastings & good times.

Thurs 1st Oct - The Dartmouth Food Festival Quiz - 7pm
Round up your sharpest 6 & battle it out for foodie glory! Curry, rice & breads included. Hosted by the most fabulous Festival Host Gina Carter. £120/table (£20pp) & all proceeds go to Dartmouth Food Festival. Only 2 tables left, so book now before they’re gone!

WHAT’S ON AT THE SAIL LOFT THIS WEEK

Dartmouth has gotten a little quieter now that the summer crowds have drifted off, which means it’s the perfect time to come find us. Great food, great drinks, & the best spot to catch up with family & friends, without the crowds. And the sun’s not done with us yet, the forecast is looking fabulous Thursday, Friday & Saturday, so grab a spot in our sunny courtyard or up on our first floor balcony with lovely views over the town.

Weds 23rd Sept - CLOSED for a private event, sorry!

Thurs 24th Sept - Thirsty Thursday - Last of the summer w**e. Buy two large glasses of rosé & get the rest of the bottle free (Grande Courtade & Le Tuffeau).

Grande Courtade - From the sun-soaked Languedoc near Béziers, this organic rosé is a delicate salmon pink with a perfumed bouquet of wild strawberry & cranberry, & a crisp, refreshing finish. The name literally means “large sunny courtyard” so very fitting for sipping in ours!

Le Tuffeau - From Les Vignobles Foncalieu, a cooperative of over 800 growers rooted in the heart of the Languedoc near Carcassonne, this rosé draws on the region’s chalky limestone soils for a fresh, easy-drinking style, perfect for lingering in our courtyard as the last of the summer sun fades. Come & grab the last of the summer sun, & w**e with us!

Fri 25th Sept - Joanna Cooke Live, 7pm. Food menu from 5pm.
We’re delighted to welcome Joanna Cooke back to The Sail Loft this week. Her voice is one that draws you in, from intimate local stages to recordings played across the world. Raised on a diet of Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone & Muddy Waters, Joanna writes with real depth, drawing on everything from blues to electro. She’s since taken her music international, & we can’t wait to have her back on our stage. Don’t miss it.

Sat 26th Sept - Brunch & Pilates with Justine from Dart Pilates. This event is now sold out this time, but please keep an eye out, as we hope to run more! Open as usual for lunch, & dinner in the evening.

Join us for an unforgettable evening with Verity, a talented singing pianist & guitarist. Having recently moved back to Devon from Manchester, Verity now performs across Exeter & the wider Devon area, blending classical training with soul, blues and jazz, think beautifully reimagined pop covers with a jazzy twist alongside her own heartfelt originals about love, heartbreak & everything in between. She’s currently working on new singles & an EP due this year, so it’s the perfect chance to hear her latest material live. Expect soulful vocals, stunning piano & guitar, & a warm, interactive atmosphere, requests are welcome, so bring your favourite songs!

Saturday 19th September — Brunch / Lunch / Dinner & Happy Hours!
Freya will be busy in the kitchen preparing our fabulous brunch/lunch menu, served from midday so book your table online. Saturday evening our upstairs Lounge is closed for a private event, but walk-ins are very welcome for food & drinks in our ground floor Bar.

Our evening menu is served from 5pm Wednesday to Saturday, as well as Happy Hours from 3pm to 5pm and 9pm to 10pm. So make sure you come & see us this week! Remember we are dog, child & pretty much anyone (well behaved!) friendly…!

WOW! What a Regatta! Huge thank you to everyone who came down & joined us during The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, you ate, drank & got merry with us, & it was an absolute blast. And the biggest thank you goes to our brilliant team who smashed it all week, all bloody amazing: Amy, Freya, Daisy, Kaelyn, Ben C, Dom, Joe, Indie, Ted, Ewan, Ben L, Jake, Isla, Toby, Zuzia and Sophie. Thank you!

We’re still loving this sunny weather though, we’re not ready to embrace autumn quite yet! This week we’re open Tuesday through to Saturday, & we still have lots going on.

WHAT’S ON AT THE SAIL LOFT THIS WEEK

It’s Regatta Week in Dartmouth, & what a week it’s shaping up to be! Huge well done to our Sail Loft crew who took to the water yesterday for the The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta Whaler races. Okay, we came last… but not by much, & it was all smiles from our amazing team! Massive respect to Amy (Bar & Events Manager), Ewan (top chef), Ben (top mixologist), Freya (Kitchen Manager) & Ted (top barman) for getting stuck in on the water as well as at The Sail Loft itself, this lot really do it all for us. We’ll be back next year fighting fit (& slightly less out of breath). Flags are going up today as we properly get into the regatta spirit!

So what’s on this week? We’re open every night, serving up great food & drink whatever the weather (& yes, we know there are a few showers forecast, but there’s plenty of cover & space at The Sail Loft to keep the party going regardless).

🎶 Regatta Disco Friday – come & dance the night away with DJ Sophie Sea spinning feel-good house all night long.
🎤 Regatta Music Saturday – live music from Giles Nuttall 6.30–8.30pm, followed by DJ Show Pony taking us through to 11pm.

We’ve only got a few dinner tables left for Friday & Saturday night, so book online now to avoid disappointment! Fancy something more low-key on Saturday? Escape the crowds & join us for lunch our delicious toasties are being served & after being last week’s bestseller, we’ll be keeping our beef brisket sliders coming out thick & fast too!

THE SAIL LOFT CREW ARE RACING!

The countdown is now well & truly on for The 181st Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta. Our boys have well & truly grown up, no more junior races for this lot!
This year they’re stepping up to the big leagues, racing in the Open Men’s Whaler Race on Sunday at 10.20am & the LVA Men’s Whaler Race on Monday at 9.40am.

And we’ve got something extra special to shout about: our very FIRST mixed team is taking to the water in the Mixed Whaler Race, this Sunday at 12.20pm!
