Tim Hardie's award-winning The Tufted Duck Eatery sadly closed its doors today at its Perthshire location. This iconic 'enterprise captured the hearts of locals and tourists alike', and Tim had built up a considerable and successful business for nearly 16 years.

Founded in 2008 by Tim and Winnie Hardie, The Tufted Duck Eatery has been a hugely popular destination for hundreds of Tayside residents and many others from beyond, providing a consistency of service that is essential in the hospitality business. Awards such as the 'Travellers Choice 2022' alongside numerous positive reviews on Trip Advisor are testament to the popularity of the much-loved establishment, run by proprietor, Tim, and his hardworking team of staff.

The Tufted Duck Eatery was a finalist in the recent Countryside Alliance Awards Scotland 2024 and subsequently awarded Highly Commended in the Local Food and Drink category, which 'celebrates those who are playing an integral role in supporting the rural economy'. Tim and his eldest son attended the awards ceremony at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh in March of this year, where thousands of nominations from around the country were whittled down via a public vote and The Tufted Duck Eatery was one of the few honoured on the night. It was noted as a place 'where the hard-working team serve you outstanding local food with exceptional customer service, where the owner goes out of his way to make sure every single customer is treated like an old friend.'

Tim, his wife Winnie and their two sons, would like to thank all their fabulous customers for their loyal support over the years and let them know they are actively seeking a new home for the The Tufted Duck Eatery in Tayside, or Fife where they now live. They will keep customers notified of their progress through social media, regarding the location of the new premises.

Tim is very proud to have established such a popular venue and looks forward to welcoming back customers old and new, very soon! Farewell for now and thank you!
