We are now closed for our New Year break and will reopen on Saturday, 3rd January 2026.
As one year quietly gives way to the next, we’re reminded that time moves on, but values, memories, and community endure.
The Central has been part of this town since the 1930s, shaped by generations of familiar faces, shared routines, and moments that often pass without ceremony, yet stay with us all the same.
An old Latin phrase feels fitting at times like this:
Post tenebras, lux.
After darkness, light.
As we step into 2026, I want to acknowledge something that often goes unseen. The Central is not just a place, it’s the people who show up, care deeply, and take pride in what they do, day after day. The standards, the atmosphere, and the trust people place in us exist because of that commitment. That matters, and it’s never taken for granted.
With gratitude for the past, appreciation for the present, and quiet hope for what lies ahead, we look forward to the year to come.
From me, and from everyone at The Central, we wish you a peaceful, healthy, and hopeful New Year. We look forward to welcoming you back when we reopen and continuing the journey together.

As Christmas approaches, I wanted to take a moment to reflect, and to say a very heartfelt thank you to everyone who continues to support The Central.
The Central first opened its doors back in the 1930s, and over the decades it has been part of so many lives, routines, and memories. Generations of families have passed through our doors, and that sense of tradition is something we hold very close to our hearts.
At this time of year, we also remember those who are no longer with us, the familiar faces, family members, friends, and loved ones who were once part of our lives and our community, and whose memories remain close, especially at Christmas.
For me personally, being part of The Central is about far more than a business. It’s about familiarity, community, and the simple comfort of seeing the same friendly faces return year after year. In a world that changes so quickly, that continuity means more than words can ever express.
To our customers, whether you’ve been supporting us for decades, or discovered us more recently thank you for trusting us, supporting us, and making us part of your lives. Every visit, conversation, and kind word truly matters.
I also want to thank our incredible team, who work with care, pride, and dedication every single day, especially during the busiest times. What we do simply wouldn’t be possible without them.
From me, and from all of us at The Central, we wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas one filled with warmth, love, cherished memories, and time spent with those who matter most.

As another year comes to a close. I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt appreciation to all our customers for their continued trust and support.
This year again has brought with it a continuation of aggressive challenges and obstacles. With your trusted loyalty and contribution, these have been confronted and resisted throughout.
This has allowed us to emerge 2023 stronger than ever

It’s now been Thirty Three years since I took over the reins of The Central from the Fusaro Brothers in Cupar. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for your ongoing commitment and support.
