A great event for a great community. Brought to you by members of said community! Not long to go now folks! Get it in your diaries. It’s always a laugh and a smashing time! What is not to love! Cheers … 😎
Did you know that the fete typically costs around £3,500 to stage? That’s why we also run other fundraising events, notably the bonfire and fireworks display in November.
Some costs are just plain necessary, such as insurance, toilet hire and First Aid.
Then we pay for many of our entertainments, so they are free for you to enjoy!
Some of our commercial operators donate part of their profits to fete funds.
Local community groups help us by running the tea tent (CRICH YOUTH CLUB AND CHIKS) and the BBQ (CRICH SCOUTS). The fete is a major fundraiser for them, so it’s a win win!
We are also indebted to many other local organisations for providing free or subsidised services including:- CRICH PARISH COUNCIL (use of the Rec), CRICH JUNIOR SCHOOL (design of posters and programmes), THE NATIONAL TRAMWAY MUSEUM (parking), G&M HARTSHORNE (lorry/stage), ROY NADIN PRINT (programme), DERWENT SKIP HIRE, THE GLEBE FIELD COMMUNITY CENTRE, CRICH MEDICAL PRACTICE.
Not to forget THE MONUMENT RACE ORGANISERS, CRICH BRASS, CRICH FIRE STATION, CRICH STANDARD, NATASHA LAUREN SCHOOL OF DANCE. And individual residents who supply power and water to the stage and tea tent or provide practical help on the day.
And finally, a shout out to the community groups who attend with their own stalls to raise awareness and/or funds for themselves while providing yet more entertainment. And to the local businesses who have so kindly donated prizes for the raffle. More about these in future posts.
Thanks to every person, organisation or company who contribute to making the event so successful. Together you make the fete what it is. True community!
