🎉 ONE YEAR IN BACUP! 🎉

Tomorrow marks one whole year of Ninja Coffee Bacup!

And what a year it’s been.

We’ve genuinely loved being part of Bacup. From the familiar faces who pop in every week, to the people who discovered us for the first time, thank you for making our little shop what it is.

Over the last year we’ve listened, learned, changed things, tried new ideas and continued putting our own Ninja stamp on the place,
including our new-look interior! 📚🎶

We’re incredibly proud of how it’s looking, but even more proud of the community that has grown inside it.

One year down… and we’re certainly not finished yet.

So tomorrow, raise a coffee with us to ONE YEAR OF NINJA COFFEE BACUP! ☕️🎂

TOMORROW. WE DO BETTER | WEEK 02 🧡🖤

You spoke. We listened. And some of you definitely kept us entertained. 😂

Here’s some of what came out of your feedback this week:

1. Opening times 🕐
We’ve had several comments about our opening hours. We’re reviewing these across our locations to see where we can make improvements and better fit around you.

2. Customer bins 🗑️
You asked for easier access to bins for cups, wrappers and rubbish. Simple one, we’re looking at improving this.

3. TV menus 📺
A few of you told us the menu screens change too quickly, meaning you don’t always get enough time to read them. Fair point! We’ve adjusted the timings.

4. Butlers in the Buff… 👀
Well, this suggestion certainly got our attention. 😂
We’ve made one small amendment: Baristas in the Buff.
And apparently there’s a Ladies Evening incoming… 👀☕
More on that one soon.

5. Gaming nights 🎮
You want more reasons to use Game On beyond parties and private bookings. We’re looking at dedicated gaming nights and what these could look like.

6. Disabled access at Bacup ♿
This one deserves a proper explanation. Unfortunately, the gradient at the Bacup entrance means we’re unable to provide a portable ramp within the requirements of our insurance and safe manual-handling procedures. We know that isn’t the answer we’d like to give, so accessibility remains something we’ll continue looking at wherever improvements are possible.

7. More loyalty rewards 🎁
You told us you want more ways to be rewarded. We agree. Alongside our existing rewards, we’re working on a new digital wallet reward scheme, giving us much more flexibility with future rewards and offers. More details coming soon.

And we’re not finished.

Keep telling us the little things that annoy you, the things you’d change and the completely ridiculous ideas you think we might actually say yes to. 😂

Because the little things matter.

Ninja isn't perfect.

We're proud of what we've built, we're proud of our team and we're incredibly grateful for everyone who chooses to spend their time and money with us.

But being proud of Ninja doesn't mean pretending we always get everything right.

We don't.

Sometimes we get things wrong. Sometimes we miss the little things. Sometimes we don't see something that might be obvious to you.

And sometimes… we could simply do better.

So that's exactly what we're going to do.

Over the next 4 weeks, every Friday we're going to focus on making Ninja better.

We're going to ask questions.

We're going to listen, properly listen, to the answers.

We're going to look at the things we've perhaps stopped noticing.

We're going to make changes.

And we're going to show you what we've done.

Some things might be fixed overnight. Others might take a little longer. And there may even be things we can't change, but we'll be open about those too.

This isn't about being perfect.

It's about never becoming comfortable with “good enough”.

We’ve made it halfway through the week… although some of us might be running more on coffee than motivation at this point. 😂☕

Whether you’re heading to work, tackling the never-ending to-do list, catching up with a friend or just fancy 20 minutes away from reality we’ve got the brew for it.

😤 WINGE WEDNESDAY 😤

We don’t like writing posts like this… but come on guys! 💔

We’ve discovered damage in our Gaming Room at The Annex, including:

🎮 A PlayStation 5 cover snapped off
🔌 USB-C charging cables stolen
🍰 And, somehow… CAKE shoved into a USB-C charging port?!

Seriously. Cake. In. The. Charging. Port. 🤦‍♂️😡

We created Game On for everyone to enjoy. We’ve invested in the consoles, Gaming passes, latest games, TVs and equipment because we like having nice things at Ninja, and we want our customers to have nice things too!

All we ask is that people respect our property and leave it how they found it.

Unfortunately, because of what’s happened, we’re introducing some new Game On House Rules with immediate effect:

🚫 No food in the Gaming Room
🚫 No drinks in the Gaming Room
🎮 Treat the consoles, controllers and TVs with care
🔌 Cables and accessories must stay in the room
🧡 Leave everything as you found it
👨‍👩‍👧 Children must be appropriately supervised
⚠️ Deliberate damage or theft will not be tolerated and CCTV will be submitted to the police for criminal damage!

You can still take a break from gaming and enjoy your food and drinks in the coffee shop before heading back in.

We really don’t want to be the fun police. But unfortunately, a small number of people are spoiling something that’s there for everyone.

If the damage and theft continue, we’ll simply remove the consoles, sell them and repurpose the room for something else. We genuinely don’t want to do that.

So please, enjoy it, game away, have fun… just look after it. 🧡🖤

And apparently we now need an eighth house rule…

Cake goes in your mouth. Not in the PlayStation!!!
