📰 A trip down Memory Lane! Take a look at this article from Hinckley & Bosworth Trader in 1987, when Stan and Irene Sandford carried out a refurbishment of the Oddfellows Arms.

The article captures a moment in the pub's history and reminds us how much the Oddies has meant to generations of local people. For many, it was more than just a pub. It was a place to meet friends, celebrate milestones, and be part of the community.

💭 Do you remember the refurbishment? Were you there when Stan and Irene ran the pub? We'd love to hear your stories! Share your memories in the comments below and help us build a picture of the Oddies through the years.

📸 Even better, do you have any photos? We'd love to see them! Please send your pictures to [email protected], along with a brief description telling us who's in the photo, when it was taken, and any memories associated with it.

We’re not just trying to save a building. We’re trying to bring back a place for the whole community.

A place you can walk to.
A place where you know the people behind the counter.
A place where you bump into friends.
A place where local groups can meet.
A place where visitors feel welcome.
A place where the village comes together.

This is the future we want to create for the Oddies. ❤️

This photo captures one such happy day at the Oddies, a reminder of the important role the pub has played in bringing our community together. From the decorations and celebrations to the stories shared around the tables, the Oddies has been part of countless cherished memories.

As we work to bring the pub into community ownership, we're proud to look back at moments like these and remember just how much the Oddies means to so many people.

Thriving, inclusive and resilient rural communities 📈

📣Earlier this week, we were delighted to launch our new five-year strategy, shaped in partnership with our members, staff and trustees.

Over the next five years, we will work alongside communities across the UK to ensure community ownership continues to provide practical, sustainable solutions to the challenges facing rural areas.

As our Chief Executive, James Alcock, explains: “By strengthening community businesses, growing a stronger movement and continuing to evolve as an organisation, we believe rural communities can thrive, become more inclusive and build greater resilience.”

Discover our vision and ambitions for 2026-2031 and learn how we plan to support more communities to take control of their future.
