MeetaMakes: Canapés Edition!

Normally in these mini pastry cases I make sweet treats, but I thought this time I would try something different.

I made these pastry cases using graham crackers and butter, and then pressed into moulds...but for an easy version you can find similar types in your local grocery stores!

For the fillings I made a cream cheese soufflé whip with parsley and mixed herbs. I also made chicken meatballs with a variety of spices and shaped them to fit the cases.

Finally, I topped the canapés with a sprig of fresh parsley.

Hopefully when dinner parties are able to commence again, I will be able to serve these to my guests. Until then, me and my family will enjoy!

They are super easy, so definitely give them a go and tag me if you do make them!

Orange & poppy seed cake ~

So these holidays have been less than normal, and although we haven’t been able to celebrate with family and friends as we would like, one of the things I made sure to do is to have great food at the table that makes us happy. Cake is one of those things that makes me and my family happy. Here’s to the little things that keep us going.

Hope you all had an amazing Diwali / Bandi Chor Divas 🎇🎆

This year we may have not been able to spend it in the same ways, but I tried to keep some sense of celebration via making some of my fave sweets!

This is a burfi made out of:
Gajar ka halwa
Khoya burfi
Powdered milk
Crushed pistachios
And rose petals

It was definitely one of the favourites for the fam.

Stay peeled for many more Indian sweets to come!

You’re going to want to try this one!

I made this kaabli pilau (rice and meat dish with carrots and raisins) and baked it in the oven using naan dough to cover.

This not only gave a really beautiful taste to the rice but it also created a super tasty naan!
Fully recommend trying this with any rice dish, I’m going to try it with biryani next time as I think it will taste even better!
