💛 The hardest words to find are goodbye 💛

We’ve had to delay this post until last minute, as it was so important to try to maintain trade over the past few weeks and a feeling of some normality for our team and customers.

We are absolutely devastated and heartbroken to announce the closure of Spokes Kitchen in Corbridge. 😔

It was a decision completely taken out of our hands a few days before the end of September. Our landlord gave us a few days notice to say our lease would not be renewed.

After taking on the business a week before lockdown, surviving the covid period, going from a cold start with a business that had been closed for many months… challenge after challenge, followed by even more challenges. Ever changing costs, energy, everything breaking, roof leaks etc.

Despite this, over the past year or so Spokes has gone from strength to strength. August was our busiest month ever… and the past few weekends have been even busier than that!

We are SO SO proud and eternally grateful to our team, who have worked so hard bringing the Spokes vision to life and believing in us… we were only just getting started and had so much more we wanted to do.

Thank you to our local community who visit and support Spokes, we are so glad we were able to offer you a space to relax and chat with good food and drink.
Thank you also to visitors from near and far, who have made Spokes part of their visit to the beautiful village of Corbridge.

This is our last weekend… we are open Saturday and Sunday.

Please pop in for a visit and say goodbye to the team.
We are hoping to have near normal menu on Saturday but of course on Sunday please understand things may start to run out.
We will also be selling off some stock such as bottles 🍾 & 🧁 in takeaway bundles - we will share these over the weekend.
