We're looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Bar Staff Member to join our team.

This role includes a permanent Saturday night shift, with additional hours available to cover holidays, sickness, and busy periods.

The ideal candidate will:

- Have previous bar experience (essential)

- Thrive in a fast-paced, busy environment

- Deliver excellent customer service with a friendly and approachable manner

- Be confident engaging with customers and helping to create a welcoming atmosphere

- Have a great work ethic and be a reliable team player

- Be able to remain calm and efficient during busy service periods

- Have a positive personality and enjoy building rapport with customers

If you're someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in providing great service, and loves the buzz of a busy pub, we'd love to hear from you.

With this year's tournament being hosted across Canada, Mexico and the USA, we've taken a little inspiration from our hosts and created a selection of specials to celebrate.

Our World Cup Specials Menu will be available throughout the tournament, alongside all your usual favourites.

- Available between 17th June - 19th July -

Whether you're joining us to watch the football, catch up with friends or simply enjoy something a little different, we hope you'll give one of our specials a try.

The restaurant is back open and lunch is being served. 🍽️

And if you've got a sweet tooth, this month's cheesecake is proving hard to resist.

Bramble & Citrus Cheesecake – a rich, creamy cheesecake topped with a vibrant blackberry and mixed berry compote, finished with a hint of citrus for a fresh, zesty finish.

🎉 Happy 17th Birthday to our Fraser! 🎉

Always smiling, always singing, and somehow always full of energy no matter how busy the shift gets, Fraser is a joy to have around. His love for drama definitely shines through – whether he's serving tables, entertaining the team, or treating the kitchen to an impromptu performance between orders there’s never a dull moment.

What we love most is the positivity he brings. Fraser has a way of making people smile, from our customers to everyone he works alongside, and that's something really special.

To top it all off, he chose to spend part of his 17th birthday celebrating with us over lunch today, which made the day even more special for us. 🥳

Fraser, thank you for being exactly who you are. We hope your birthday is filled with lots of laughs, good food, and all the happiness you bring to everyone else.

We don't usually share political posts, preferring to keep things focused on great food, drinks, and the welcoming atmosphere here at The Crown & Crossed Swords. However, this is one issue that feels too important not to highlight.

🍻 What would we really lose if local pubs disappeared?

We've put together a short slideshow to show what a pub means to us, and hopefully what it means to many of you too.

When people talk about hospitality, it's easy to think it's just about food and drink. But pubs are so much more than that. They're places where families gather for meals, friends catch up over a pint, local musicians perform, visitors stay, and local people find work.

This isn't just about pubs either. The same challenges are being faced by restaurants, cafés, hotels, breweries, suppliers and hospitality businesses across the country.

The hospitality industry is currently carrying one of the highest VAT rates in Europe, at a time when costs continue to rise across the board. That's why campaigns like are gaining support throughout the sector.

If you agree that local hospitality businesses deserve a fairer chance, please take a moment to support the campaign and consider signing the petition.
