Hosted by our good friend Cass, an award-winning poet, it's a great opportunity to share your work, build confidence, and make new friends.

There's also an optional feedback workshop afterwards - a great chance to brainstorm ideas over a cup of tea and build your poetic skills 📚🍵

Who's coming this Thursday to our Silent Book Club?

It kicks off on Thursday 18th at 7PM and runs for two hours.

We host them on the third Thursday of every month.

📖 For those who are curious to what is a Silent Book Club is...

It's a super chill evening hosted in the Tea Bar, with no set book, you simply rock up with whatever you're reading at the moment, whether it's a book, comic or magazine. It is free to attend!

There's zero pressure! The first hour is spent in silence just reading, it's honestly bliss 👌 The second hour you can keep reading, you can socialise, or head on home. Whatever suits you best and makes you the most comfortable.

It's the perfect chill night and great for introverts as you can spend the evening however suits you, with absolutely no judgement from anyone in the room.

So come on your own, or bring a friend along. Either way it's the perfect chance to carve out some time for yourself.

An event with two school friends who go way back (with proof to show) and a journaling night we cannot wait for. This is the kind of collab we'd never have dreamed of when we were teenagers.

Nuala of Nuala | journaling workshops and Áine go way back.

We lost touch for a while after school, then found our way back to each other through the Tea Bar. There's a certain joy of getting to watch an old friend and see her business grow.

Now it's even better that we get to make something together.

This is why we started Journal Club.

It's a cosy evening here at the Tea Bar where you slow down and make something that's yours. Nuala brings all the supplies, you bring a journal and yourself, and there's no right way to do it. Write, collage, doodle, or just sip your tea and see where the evening takes you.

Our Neurodiversity Night is still happening this evening. 🥰

We've thought long and hard about whether tonight was the right thing to do, and we believe it is.

The last few days in Northern Ireland have been frightening and unsettling, and we know a lot of you will be carrying a lot of anxiety right now.

That is exactly why we want to hold space for those that need it. Moments like this are exactly when a room full of people who just get it matters most.

Somewhere you don't have to mask, explain yourself, or be on guard for a couple of hours.

So come as you are, bring a friend, or come on your own, either way we've got you.

We'll see you in our wee safe space this evening from 7pm 💛

We are devastated to hear about last night's events and fully support the words of North West Migrants Forum.

Our thoughts are wholeheartedly with the victim of the attack, their family & friends as well as anyone who witnessed the event unfold.

This horrifying and terrifying act does not represent entire communities.

We are aware of plans of protests in Coleraine this evening and we hope that things pass off peacefully, as violence is the last thing Coleraine needs.

We call for calm and understandably frustrated that incidents like this further agendas that aim to divide us and incite hate. We still believe there is more love than hate in the world.

The Tea Bar is closed on Tuesdays and we will be back open on Wednesday 11 to 5.

Tomorrow evening is our Neurodiversity Night and we'll monitor how things unfold as to whether we run it or not.

NORTH WEST MIGRANTS FORUM STATEMENT ON LAST NIGHT'S ATTACK IN BELFAST:

We are absolutely horrified by what unfolded in North Belfast last night and our prayers are with the victim and their family at this terrible time.
We are also thinking of all those who witnessed this horrendous incident and who no doubt are deeply traumatised by it.
We include within that members of the emergency services whose swift actions undoubtedly prevented an even greater tragedy.
To those who rushed to the victim's aid and helped apprehend the suspect, you showed tremendous courage in the face of absolute barbarism.
Obviously attacks like this do not make our job any easier and we understand completely that many people will feel frightened, angry and in want of answers.
Our members are also frightened. Good, decent, honest men and women fretting this morning about what last night's attack will mean for them.
The overwhelming majority of people who come through our door desire only to live in peace and to build a life for themselves and their families.
Northern Ireland knows well the danger of blaming an entire community for the deeds of an individual or small faction. In the hours, days and weeks ahead, we would ask people to bear that in mind.
We ask that the the PSNI be allowed to do their job and establish all the facts. If someone is found guilty before a court of law, then they should be made to feel the full weight of the justice system.

It was an incredible event, well done to everyone involved 👏

Last Friday I stood in Coleraine Town Hall and did something I will not forget for a long time.
I was asked to anchor the Breaking the Silence conference. To open it and to close it. To set the tone for every conversation that happened in between, and then to hold it all together at the end.
I have spoken at many events. But being trusted to carry the whole arc of a day, to be the first voice people hear and the last one they leave with, that is something different. That is not a speaking slot. That is a responsibility.
I thought about all the stories in that room. The people who came carrying experiences that most of us will never have to navigate. The community members willing to sit with discomfort and listen anyway. The organisations doing quiet, unglamorous, essential work that rarely makes headlines.
I thought about why I founded Humanitas Initiative. And I felt, very clearly, that this is exactly where the work belongs.
Thank you Building Communities Resource Centre and speakers for making “Breaking the Silence” happen(White Ribbon NI Nexus Ni, Politics In Action Northern Ireland Women's Resource and Development Agency Infuse Tea Bar FactCheckNI Causeway and Mid-Ulster Women's Aid) And thank you to everyone who showed up.
This is what it looks like when a community chooses to listen.

In a world that keeps getting louder and more chaotic, at INFUSE we're quietly in the business of helping real human connection happen.

We're not good at shouting about what we do very much. But that's not the point of these nights.

Some events are quiet, some are loud, all of them are a space where you can just be yourself. Where you don't have to mask up the same way as other places, or even explain yourself. They are the kind of events where you can come with a friend, or just on your own.

Here's what we have coming up in June:
☕ Connection Café on Thursday 4th, with the wonderful BCRC. An evening to meet an learn from people from diverse backgrounds.
🧠 Neurodiversity Meet-up on Wednesday 10th form 7pm. There's no formal diagnosis needed, come meet other neuro spicy people without the mask. Adults only.
📓 Journal Club is back with Nuala of on Friday 12th. A gorgeous evening where you get to carve out some time for yourself.
🌈 Pride Music Night with on Saturday 13th. An easy alcohol free, free to attend, so you just rock up. Doors open at 7pm.
📖 Silent Book Club Thursday 18th
🎤 Open Mic Poetry hosted by the wonderful Dr. Cass North on Saturday 20th and become a steady Tea Bar favourite night.
🧶 Whimsical Craft Night on Thursday 25th
🎲 Board Game Night Saturday 27th
