Make sure you report anything- help them help us!
We are aware of recent reports of concerning behaviour in parks across Yate, which has also been discussed on social media.
The two Yate Neighbourhood Policing Team officers have arrested an individual in connection with these concerns and will be issuing them with a Community Protection Warning (CPW), restricting their behaviour and access to certain areas.
Should the CPW be breached, a Community Protection Notice (CPN) may be issued. Further breaches could result in prosecution and an application to the courts for a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), which can carry a custodial sentence.
Yate NPT will continue to patrol local parks and open spaces to provide reassurance and tackle anti-social behaviour.
We would encourage anyone who witnesses this type of behaviour to report it directly to police. While social media can raise awareness, reports made to us allow officers to investigate, gather evidence and take appropriate action.
