The man, the myth, the legend… Ed!

Before opening our doors at Hooleigans Chester, Ed actually lived in Puglia, Italy, learning the ancient craft of making cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil and sourcing exceptional regional ingredients straight from the land.
That deep, hands-on passion for authentic food and w**e is exactly what drives everything we stock on our shelves today. From our hand-picked w**es to the cheeses and meats in our deli counter, every single item has a story… and Ed probably knows the person who made it!

For our red of the month, we have selected Villa Borghetti’s Bardolino Classico from Veneto. This delicious blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes has aromas of fresh red fruits and subtle hints of spice and pepper on the nose. The palate is soft and juicy with a refreshing, slightly tangy, and well-balanced finish and low tannins 🍓

Best served slightly chilled alongside mixed antipasti platters or with light tomato-based dishes such as Tomato Bruschetta, Spaghetti al Pomodoro or Pesto Trapanese 🍅
