1. Our permanent residency at The Blue Lion begins THIS THURSDAY!!!!

That came around quick didn’t it? We’re busy getting everything in place to make things smooth for you lot and we cannot wait for you to come and check out the new digs, Weds-Sunday every week 🏠

2. WORLD CUP - Right, we’re going to stay flexible around England games to make sure you have access to the goods and it’ll be our job to keep you guys updated as we go along.

ENGLAND VS CROATIA: Open on Deliveroo until 9.15pm, open at the Black Buoy until 10pm - LETS GO ENGLAND ⚽️

3. FATHERS DAY - This Sunday is Father’s Day, and if it’s anything like last year we’re in for an absolute belter!

Want to treat a special person in your life? We’re here to help - Rock up and enjoy Sunday at The Black Buoy & The Blue Lion, 12-7.30pm.

4. O’Connors - REMEMBER: We have now dropped Sundays to concentrate on the extra space/garden at The Blue Lion, however each Friday and Saturday we’ll be bang in the centre of the city at O’Connors and on Deliveroo to sort your burger cravings…

SMASHED IS DEAD. LONG LIVE TEAM SMASHED.

Right people. Here we go.

Alongside our hero (also the maker of every single menu and flyer since day one) we’re pleased to unveil a new name and logo.

As a result of the continued growth of the business, our former name of ‘Smashed’ (alongside our previous logo) served us well but over time become a bit too generic.

Our solution? A new take on the mighty Reuben, a burger that has led us since our launch way back when.

Why Team Smashed? Well - We’ve always pushed a collaborative spirit, and we have loads of plans with lots of great people moving forward.

We’ve also always been internally keen to push skills and ideas (which have often turned into some of your favourite menu items) and we hope that this helps show you all that a true communal effort lives behind the Deliveroo page.

Amongst the team we have marine biologists, teachers, PhD students, hotel managers, rave promoters, even a stray Texan straight out of the BBQ smokehouses - and that just scratches the surface on the vast network of talented people we encounter and work alongside daily across the venues.

Our skills are not limited and we want to show you that.

Real food, made by a real team. Our promise to you.

🚨NEWS - LOCATION 3🚨

That’s right folks, from the 18th June we will be taking over the kitchen at THE BLUE LION (Baddow) on a permanent basis from Weds-Sundays meaning you can now catch us across THREE LOCATIONS 🔥

The addition of the Blue Lion means:

✅ More opening hours for Chelmsford
✅ Much more access on Deliveroo
✅ More space (for us and you) ❤️
✅ A big beaut beer garden ready for Summer
✅ Car parking

The Blue Lion is a popular, family (and dog) friendly village pub in Great Baddow, well-regarded for its warm atmosphere and community-focused events.

We can’t wait for you to join us throughout the sunny Summer 😎 ☀️

Well, we’re going nowhere. We have decided to make one change, we’ll be dropping Sundays over there to concentrate on what we can do with the space over at the Blue Lion - We’ll be putting up QR codes at O’Connors to make ordering super easy within the venue if you’re finding yourself hungry.

JUNE SPECIAL - THE HAGGER🚨

A dish so legendary that it once got embroiled in a political prank that nearly destroyed a cafe.

That’s right, we’re bringing The Hagger home.

Cool story this. As some of you may know, Smashed used to have quite a huge part to play in Root’s and Grooves Cafe in Colchester.

The Hagger initially began life as a toastie idea on a piece of paper to advise staff about balancing salts, acids and textures, whilst maxing out the pantry.

Initially joining the Roots menu as a guest item, it then (much to Matt’s annoyance) went on to join the menu full time and became a Deliveroo top-seller that all the staff hated making, frustrating Matt even more in the process.

With it currently homeless, we couldn’t not convert the dish and bring the cult classic with us into the next chapter of our burger lives…

We’ve actually just pranked a few of our OG staff as well, as we kept this a secret and they’ve just found out as well as you all that they will be making their favourite dish all month ❤️

The Hagger is available at The Black Buoy (Wivenhoe), O’Connors (Chelmsford) and maybe even somewhere else before the month is out 👀

DELIVEROO NAME CHANGE🚨

All sorted. The above page is where you can get the goods from in Colly Town.

*Once more: Ordering from any other Smashed in Colchester will not get you our food*

We (think) we may have sorted where we’re going with this, it’ll probably take a couple of weeks whilst we work on some logo concepts.

We are completely open as usual at both sites and on both Deliveroo services in Colchester & Chelmsford 🤘

UPDATE 🚨

As much as we love engagement as much as the next company, we’ve chosen to remove the negi-vibes from our pages. You lot know what’s going on and we can only all laugh about it.

KEY INFO - ORDERING FROM AN ALTERNATIVE SMASHED IN COLCHESTER WILL NOT BRING YOU OUR DRY-AGED BURGERS 🍔

We were hoping to confirm a name change on Deliveroo with you today - We’re sitting creasing as the name change has taken place - for Chelmsford only - And now the name has been taken WE CAN’T USE IT AGAIN 😂😂😂

Considering the issue with someone using the same name as us - You really can’t make it up 😂

In Colchester we’re currently ‘Smashed’

Soon we hope to be ‘SMASHED ESSEX: DRY-AGED SMASHBURGERS’

This comes after our original request which now becomes our new Chelmsford name ‘SMASHED ESSEX: DRY-AGED BURGERS’
