Time for a short break & a lick of paint. We'll be closed from 2nd to 10th November, but don't worry our sister pub is still open and ready to welcome you for your weekly pub fix.

See you soon!

This is how we make our bacon caramel 🥓

Glucose, milk, cream, a proper deep caramel and then… bacon!

Probably not the ingredient you’d expect in a caramel sauce, but trust us, it works. Sweet, salty, smoky and a little bit different.

That’s what makes it so good.

A long walk, a good supper and a quiet room to come back to. A few days away on your own can be a chance to slow down and let the day take its own shape.

Having recently taken a few days away on my own, I was reminded how lovely it is to do exactly as you please — whether that’s heading out for a walk or staying put with a book.

If you fancy a little time at The Cotley, we’ll make you feel at home.

Enjoy 25% off stays throughout October and November with code AUTUMN26.

It's wild and wet out there, so we're leaning into the hearty stuff.

Cotley Estate chuck steak cottage pie, parsley mash & buttered sprouts — proper comfort food, done the Cotley way.

Duck leg, slow cooked until it falls off the bone, served with sweet pear, buttered spinach and a celeriac & fennel gratin.

Proper autumn comfort, done the Cotley way. 🍂

A little reminder that both our pubs are closed today for our annual Staff Wellness Day.

This year, our team are taking the opportunity to enjoy some well-deserved time out in their own way. Some are making the most of the sunshine in Ibiza, others are enjoying the West End in London, while some are heading out for a walk by the coast with the dogs.

We introduced our Wellness Day in 2022, setting aside a day each year for our team to enjoy some time for themselves, without having to use any of their annual holiday allowance.

The idea is simple: to encourage everyone to do something that supports their mental and physical wellbeing, whether that’s getting outdoors, spending time with loved ones or simply taking a moment to switch off.

Hospitality is a wonderful industry, but we all know it comes with long and often antisocial hours. Looking after our team is incredibly important to us, and we believe that giving everyone the opportunity to rest, recharge and feel appreciated is an essential part of that.

We’re proud of our teams and grateful for everything they do throughout the year. Our annual Wellness Day is just one small way of saying thank you.

Both pubs will reopen as usual tomorrow, and we look forward to welcoming you all back.

See you soon. Xx
