🎉 Celebrating 13 Years at Atom! 🎉

This month marks an incredible 13 years since Kellie joined Atom in June 2013.

Kellie began her journey with us in an administrative role before moving into Purchasing, where she quickly became a key part of the team. Her drive, dedication, and attention to detail then saw her progress into the Quoting Department, where she took ownership and became instrumental in its day-to-day success.

Today, Kellie serves as our Finance Director, a position that reflects years of hard work, commitment, and continuous development. What makes her journey even more remarkable is that despite her senior leadership role, she still remains actively involved in quoting on a daily basis, bringing her wealth of experience and knowledge to every part of the business.

Over the past 13 years, Kellie has become an integral part of Atom's success. Her versatility, leadership, and unwavering dedication have helped shape the company into what it is today.

Thank you, Kellie, for everything you have contributed over the last 13 years. We are incredibly proud of all you have achieved and look forward to many more years of success together.

Out with the old, in with the new!

Another successful project completed by the team — removing an old rusty fire escape and replacing it with a brand new mild steel galvanised staircase built for strength, safety, and longevity.

This is another quality BS EN1090 UKCA fabrication completed to the highest standards.

BS EN1090 is the legal standard for structural steel and aluminium fabrication in the UK and Europe. It ensures all fabricated steelwork is manufactured, tested, and quality checked to strict safety standards — and by law, any structural steel product placed on the market must be UKCA marked and fabricated by a certified company.

Our Sorcerer Rotational Moulding Machine build has progressed significantly since our last update. We’re now moving into the testing and calibration stage ⚙️

This phase ensures everything is working in sync — you’ll see the oven rocking while, inside, the tool frame rotates. This combined movement is key to evenly distributing the plastic powder throughout the mould.

This process allows production of a wide range of products, from plastic kayaks and fuel tanks to everyday items like the plastic bins you see on the streets 🏭

Great to see it all coming together 👷‍♂️

A slightly belated Happy Birthday to Marek! 🎉

Marek has been part of the Atom Fabs team since August 2024 and has quickly become a key member of the workshop. Nothing is ever too much trouble for him — he’s always willing to lend a hand wherever it’s needed and brings a great attitude to everything he does.

He’s a top welder/fabricator, valued by the whole team, and a real favourite with our customers too — always smiling and getting the job done to a high standard.

We’re proud to have you on the team, Marek. Hope you had a great birthday! 🍻

It’s been a busy few months here at Atom Fabs, with a wide range of projects coming through the workshop.

From stainless steel handrails and cattle grids, to small galvanised platforms and hinged chequer plate well covers — no two jobs are ever the same. 🔧

We take pride in delivering high-quality fabrication across a variety of sectors, adapting to each project’s requirements and ensuring a durable, practical finish every time. All projects were also fully fitted and installed on site for our customers.

Great work from the team keeping standards high across such a diverse workload 💪

At Atom Fabs, we know that our biggest asset is our team. After a busy few months in the workshop, we wanted to give something back and focus on what really matters — the health and wellbeing of our staff.

This week we welcomed Aram from Aram Fitness & Recovery, providing sports massage sessions to help the team recover, reduce strain & stress, and keep performing at their best.

Working in fabrication can be physically demanding, and it’s just as important to look after mental health as it is physical wellbeing. Taking the time to reset, recover, and support each other makes a real difference both in and out of the workplace.

We’re proud to invest in our team and create an environment where people feel valued, supported, and looked after. A big thank you to Aram for delivering a great service — the team certainly appreciated it!

We’re proud to announce that Atom Fabs is now Cyber Essentials Certified.

This is something we’ve been talking about internally for quite some time. It has always been part of our longer-term plans as we continue to grow and mature as a business. However, with the way Atom Fabs has evolved over the past year—and the calibre of customers we’re now working with—this certification has quickly moved from “nice to have” to a clear necessity.

That shift pushed us to bring this forward sooner than we originally expected, and we’re glad we did.

Achieving Cyber Essentials strengthens our foundations as a business. It means we now have independently verified controls in place to protect against common cyber threats, safeguard sensitive data, and reduce risk across our systems and operations.

For Atom Fabs, this isn’t just a badge—it’s about:

Bollards, Bollards & More Bollards!

A busy run going through the workshop this week — 150 mild steel bollards in production.

We’re making full use of our weld positioner to ensure every bollard gets a consistent, high-quality MIG weld, keeping fabrication efficient while maintaining the standard our customers expect.

Next stage for these is galvanising, followed by yellow paint with a black band, before heading out for delivery to one of our regular customers in the utilities sector.

Great work from the team keeping the jobs flowing through the shop. 👏

This week we’ve seen a real variation of jobs moving through the workshop. From stainless steel drain covers and hydraulic ram covers, to mild steel parts for our rotational moulding machine build, as well as mild steel gratings for the utilities sector.
