Our coffee supplier 80 Stone Coffee Roasters are also based in south London and we’ve been working with them for almost six years now .

They’ve been so helpful to us as a small business, but most importantly, they roast great coffees and give us a product we are glad to serve.

🦋✨ CHARLES DARWIN & MOUNTSFIELD PARK?! ✨🦋

For a short time only we have some very pretty coffee cups including one featuring ‘Watercolor moths” [sic] by New Zealand-based artist Surface pattern designer | Pinterest | Magic Mockup Maker

It seems particularly appropriate for Mountsfield Park as the park’s first resident, Henry Tibbats Stainton, was such a renowned expert on moths and butterflies that Charles Darwin actually wrote to him for help!

Darwin used Stainton’s extensive moth research and data to help build his groundbreaking theories on sexual selection for his famous 1871 book, The Descent of Man. Here is a brilliant snippet from the Running Past :

“The outbuildings (partly shown in the photo), were home to Henry Tibbats Stainton’s museum relating to his interest in entomology. Henry Tibbats Stainton had developed an interest in moths and butterflies around 1840 and by the time he moved to Mountsfield was a recognised authority on them.

The preface to ‘Stainton’s Handbook of Butterflies and Moths’ was penned at Mountsfield in February 1857”

At some point we need to celebrate this awesome connection Lewisham Council 👀

📸 Swipe to see the historic outbuildings!

🌸🥯 Introducing the May Bagel of the Month - a balance of sweet, salty, and crunch.

Here’s what’s inside:

Saint Agur Blue Cheese Spread 🧀 – velvety, creamy, and just the right amount of tangy punch.
Thinly Sliced Green Apples 🍏 – crisp, tart, and refreshing.
Caramelised Walnuts 🌰 – adding a toasted, sugary crunch.
Peppery Rocket 🌱 – to tie it all together.

It’s basically a cheeseboard in a bagel.

Stop by and grab yours before June arrives!

Apologies to the early birds, we will be open from 9.30am on Monday 6th April.
