📚👑 Historian Morning with Tony! 👑📚

Today we welcomed our fabulous Tony for our monthly history session 🤩
We enjoyed brilliant chats about Brampton, the local area, and fascinating stories of kings and queens throughout history 👑✨

Thank you, Tony, for your wonderful wealth of knowledge — our residents absolutely love your visits, and we can’t wait to see what you bring next month 🙌💛

🎉🧠 Today at Greenlane!
We had a brilliant morning together enjoying a mix of fun and nostalgia. We started with the Daily Sparkle, which sparked chats about Ken Dodd, old wooden pegs and school milk — plenty of laughter and memories shared 💬💛

We then tested our brains with a general knowledge quiz, followed by a few lively rounds of Hangman — lots of teamwork, guessing and cheering each other on!

A busy, joyful morning full of conversation, connection and smiles 😊✨

🎉🎂 A truly special celebration today!

We all gathered together to honour a wonderful 90th birthday, and the room was filled with warmth, smiles, and heartfelt moments 💛

🍰 We enjoyed delicious cake, shared lovely conversations about classical musicians, and of course joined in a big, joyful Happy Birthday — a moment so touching it brought a tear to his eye 🥹🎶

A beautiful day celebrating a beautiful milestone, surrounded by friendship, music, and love 💛✨

💚☕ MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING ☕💚
What a fantastic morning we’ve had here at Greenlane House supporting Macmillan Cancer Support.

Our residents, families and staff enjoyed tea, coffee and lots of delicious cakes kindly made by our wonderful cook Sandra and some lovely family members. The room was full of chatter, laughter and community spirit.

We had a fun raffle, a lively Spot the Ball, and were treated to the amazing voice of Kerry Weir, who filled the home with music and smiles 🎶💛

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we’ve raised £168 so far — and we’re hoping the total will keep climbing over the next few days.

Together we’ve made a real difference 💚✨

We had such a wonderful morning here at Greenlane! Today we welcomed a fantastic group of Year 4 pupils for a fun ice‑breaker session with our residents 💬🎨🎲

The children were full of curiosity and kindness — asking questions, colouring together, and playing little games that brought so much laughter and energy into the lounge. The faces of our residents truly lit up ✨

😄💛 Moments like this show just how special intergenerational activities can be.

We’re excited to continue building a lovely relationship with the school and hope to welcome them back again soon… and maybe even arrange a visit from our residents to the school too! 🌈🤝

Thank you Year 4 — you made our day! 💛🌟

🎬✨ National Cinema Day at Greenlane! ✨🎬
Today our lovely residents settled in for a magical morning watching Mary Poppins — can you believe it was released over 60 years ago? 🌟

So many of our residents shared beautiful memories of taking their children to see it at the cinema for the very first time. Lots of smiles, lots of “I remember that!”, and plenty of nostalgia floating around the room 💛

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper film day without popcorn 🍿… and our residents absolutely refused to go without their regular cups of tea ☕ because some traditions are sacred!

A supercalifragilisticexpialidocious morning all round ✨

Shopping Trip 🚌🌧️🛍️

Today we enjoyed a lovely one‑to‑one outing into town 😊
We hopped on the bus from Brampton 🚌, raincoat in hand because this weather just can’t make its mind up lately 🌦️😂

Carlisle Market was in full swing, so we had a good nosy around all the stalls 👀✨
Lots of delicious treats to tempt us 🍰😋 and plenty of pretty jewellery sparkling away 💍✨

After a wander, we made our way to B&M for a couple of bits and bobs 🛒
Then finished off our trip in M&S with a warm brew and a lovely scone ☕🍰
A perfect cosy ending to a rainy‑day adventure 💛
