🐟Proud to work in collaboration with Big Science Project and Teifi Coastal Project 🌊
As our summer of science has only 1 week left, I thought I'd tell you a bit about the preparation for it.
As the owner of this business, I work full time to bring the best bilingual science events possible for children across rural communities of Wales. I have developed, practiced, and honed each science camp event to be as fun and engaging for all children that join us.
Back in October last year, I was planning this summer of science. Back then, I booked 36 individual days for hall bookings to secure the locations. I have then professionally printed activity books for these events, advertised across social media, written newsletters, recruited 5 extra staff for the summer (who are all ace by the way!) to join Bea and I to deliver events, responded to all emails/Facebook and Instagram messages, posted social media photos nearly daily of each event, followed up on feedback, requested reviews, driven more miles than I like to think across the country for each event.... and still tried to keep up with all of the admin work that comes with running the buisness (Let's ignore the personal life ticking on by too 😊).
And although I had planned for 36 individual science camp events to run over these 6 weeks, I did have to cancel 5 of them. I can't always get the dates and locations to work, but that's ok. It's the risk that comes with the business where I HAVE to plan so far ahead.
On top of these 31 events, we were also running privately booked events with a day at the Fisherman's Rest, 3 events at the Penparcau Hub, 2 days at The Royal Welsh, 1 event at Amgueddfa Wlân Cymru - National Wool Museum , and the last weekend of August will be 3 days running science activities at The Big Feastival!!
It's a busy life, but one I wouldn't change for the world. So, if you can't get hold of me this weekend, I will be here, on top of the mountain, walking the Offa's D**e trail, with my phone switched to airplane mode enjoying the beautiful outdoors just for a short while 😊
It's hard to believe that all the preparation for this summer, that started in October last year, is nearly coming to an end next week 😢.... but don't worry as October half term will soon be here😊, and yes.... that was all booked in and planned last year too 🥰
Hopefully your children will like to join us for the October half term too 😀
