Whether you’re a regular of ours or you’ve only been once, chances are you’ve been served by our Venezuelan superstar Miguel Delgado
I’m sure you’re all aware of the catastrophic double earthquakes that struck Venezuela on the 24th June. The death toll is the thousands, the injury count is in the tens of thousands and those in need of aid and assistance run into the hundreds of thousands.
Miguel has been working tirelessly raising money to send back to support his mum Lizette, his family and many of the wider community. In Miguel’s words:
“In my hometown of La Guaira, everyone and everything we know has been affected by the twin earthquakes of the 24th of June. My family and friends group alone has a death toll of over 140 people and with loss of property and work places even higher.
My mom, as many of my friends and family are now homeless. However, hope and camaraderie is still part of their system and many are mobilised to help others that are currently worse off.
My mom is the most resilient woman I have ever met, and she has found a purpose through all this tragedy by doing good deeds to others that need it the most. Help that has come in the form of supply bags to family, temporary shelter like donating mattresses and tents, as well as meals to the rescue teams and children that are now left without parents. Hope is built up by helping others in my old home.”
THE EVENT- We’ll be serving up a five course meal of (mostly Dario Gutier 👀) traditional Venezuelan food. There’ll be Venezuelan beers, cocktails and a live band! For tickets the link is here:
