It's with a heavy heart that we're announcing the closure of Science Cream’s parlour in Castle Arcade. It has been our absolute pleasure to bring smiles and sundaes to our hometown for the past six years, but with our lease running its natural course and continued uncertainty about the future post-COVID-19, this is our only viable option to ensure that Science Cream survives to scoop again.

To all our regulars, we’re sorry that we didn’t get the chance for a proper goodbye at the parlour, but we look forward to seeing you all at food festivals, weddings or parties somewhere along the line. If you’ve ever stopped in for ice cream, left us a kind review, written about our work, or given us the honour of hosting your child’s birthday party, we thank you with all we have. We had a blast.

SHUT HAPPENS

In the interest of public health, we have decided to temporarily close our parlour. We intend to reopen our doors when it is safe to do so.

In the meantime, we'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support over the past six years. We sincerely hope that we’ll be back serving ice cream and providing smiles in the not too distant future.

Why use liquid nitrogen to freeze your ice cream, you say? Let's get a little nerdy. So, 78% of the air is made up of nitrogen, and we give it a big freeze down to 196°c ️, where it condenses into a liquid. We then pour it onto our homemade custard or vegan bases, whipping up an ice cream within 30 seconds. That fast action means that the ice crystals forming within do not get a chance to grow, remaining minuscule and creating the smoothest and creamiest scoop around, babes #
