An old and rare bottle of Barolo with a lot going for it:
Very good level , in fact , remarkable .
It’s a Riserva, so was made with the best fruit of the vintage. Extending aging will /may have afforded protection against later oxidation.
It’s a 1978 vintage . Janis Robinson reports “Formidable, even aggressive wines that have developed at a snail’s pace”. Good news for a wine that’s nearly 50 years old .
It’s listed elsewhere at £159.00 though out of stock .
I’m not that greedy £33.95 here.
