It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of the bricks-and-mortar element of "Of Dice & Men." This decision hasn't been taken lightly; however, to allow us to explore new opportunities, we felt this was the only option.
We have enjoyed a fabulous three years in Camberley and have met some wonderful people, many of whom we are happy to now call friends. From day one of throwing open our doors, our client base has gone from strength to strength. For that, we are extremely grateful to those who supported this dream.
Sadly, there has also been a downside. We have been targeted on no less than four occasions this year alone by what can only be described as feral youths. Our staff have been threatened, the shop vandalised, and windows broken. Despite calls to Surrey Police, nothing seems to be done; in fact, we are still awaiting "a call back tomorrow" from four months ago. It has come to a point where we can no longer ensure our staff's safety when working alone in the evenings. Rents and business rates preclude us from moving to a High Street location, and therefore we feel that the only solution is for us to close our doors and redevelop the business into a new mobile/hybrid model. Of Dice & Men is a solvent business, and while we will no longer be trading from a bricks-and-mortar building, we look forward to bringing you a new and exciting offer in the near future.
We don't want to end on a low note as we have, for the most part, had a fabulous time here. Obviously, there are far too many people to name individually, but you know who you are. To our fabulous neighbours, Allsorts, thank you so much for taking in all those parcels for us. Thanks to our great friends at Camberley & District Club 1903 and Hullabaloo House Camberley for offering us some space to allow us to continue some services in the short term.
We will be closing our doors for the final time on Sunday, 01 September.
