INTRODUCING..
The Dedham Vale Walled Garden
Just over a year ago, a dream came true.
The Victorian Walled Garden that we had seen over grown 8 years ago was cleared and ready for us the start work.
Built in 1839 this 4 acre brick walled garden would have been the height of technology. But since the Second World War it has been out of use with the walls falling into disrepair.
With the estate starting work to restore the walls, we have been tasked with restoring the gardens within. We have been working incredibly hard to tackle the nettles, build infrastructure and get the ground ready for us to start growing.
Endless tarp to suppress the weeds. Sheds, green houses, compost toilets and compost bays, all having to be moved in by hand! It has been a huge task but an absolute honour.
So what will this space be?
The goal is a flower farm, a workshop space and eventually a pop up restaurant (so we can cook you something other than fried chicken).
Using our fruit and veg to make products to sell, and along with local meat and dairy (from farms nearby on the estate) to cook you meals in a unique and beautiful place.
This is the project we have been dreaming of. To find it just 1 mile from home, on the same land we got married on, makes its all the more special.
Please give .walledgarden a follow to see what we have been up to and all future projects
A huge thank you to for the photos! We have some great projects coming up with these guys so give them a follow
