Cake is always on the menu
But did you know that 20 years ago we didn’t even sell cake!! 😱
One day I just simply decided to make a sponge cake and fill it with jam! Like you do when you first start out in business 😂 It certainly wasn’t the prettiest bake, but seemingly it was tasty enough!! Before long there was an uptake in demand, people were actually asking for a slice. In those days we would toil to get one single cake made by 11 o’clock, then congratulate ourselves on selling a whopping 8 slices a day!! 😆
Fast forward 20 years and the first sight you are greeted with when entering our shop, (other than our beaming smiles!) is a chiller bursting at the seams with an array of handcrafted cakes!! Each one individually made with love ❤️ Now even the jam oozing out of them is homemade too!!
So here’s to humble beginnings and happy ever afters 😋
