PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Hello all loyal customers.

Sadly we have now ceased trading.

The main reason for this is due to the loss of earnings that we incurred due to an officer at the town council allowing Ice cream vans at the events.

They were offered a discount on the bouncy castle hire if a Brighton based company were allowed to provide their ice cream van at events.

It is large event days that we can earn a profit.

It is very sad as we had a soup kitchen prepared for winter and voluntary workers! (pay as you can afford )

However support local and looking out for local businesses is not in the interest of officer of the council.

The rudeness towards my staff on several occasions all has been documented. I have also statements from my staff (one as young as 16) his words were she is like a bully!

Again I’m really sorry you will loose this service in the park. No more Mr whippy for £2 and you will need to pay £3 - £3.50 for the ice cream vans.

Good luck to whoever wishes to take on the kiosk.

I think if ANY councillor at BHTC was asked should we put an ice cream van on the park for events they would say No support local.

This seriously need looking at.

I was renting this space I was told by MSDC that other vendors would not be at events unless it was scouts or Bonfire society or other charities (I agreed with this as it fair)

I was also told by the officer of events that if I could handle the rush and demand she wouldn’t get any ice cream van in (I have this via email)

I then employed 5 staff for that day as it would be busy. Then the ice cream van appeared that she agreed to.

So I had to send 3 staff home so not only did I not sell many ice creams it ended up costing me.

We're excited to announce that Latchetts Farm Scoop Ice Cream makes its debut at Kiosk in the Park today during the Burgess Hill Summer Fayre at 11am.

We have 6 flavours:
Bella (milk); Strawberry; Chocolate; Mint Choc Chip; Biscoff; Bubblegum;

Along with a guest ice cream of the week and a sorbet of the week...but you'll have to come and see us to find out what they are!

Our Latchetts Farm Ice Creams are served in a suger cone, costing £2.50.

We hope to see you enjoying this wonderful Sussex Ice Cream with us very soon!
