Sandymouth Café Sandymouth Café - we love sand. But we don't eat it. Myths and legend abound in this area of North Cornwall. Oh, and did we mention sand?

Here at Sandymouth Cafe, nestled deep in the heart of rugged wrecker country, we think we've got a particularly special vantage point, gazing out over the vast Atlantic Ocean. Smugglers, pirates, even mermaids are said to have been present through the years. There are as many dubious tales as there are cows in the surrounding fields. We're less than a minute's walk from Sandymouth Bay - one of the

finest, most evocative beaches in the UK. It has seasonal lifeguard cover, excellent surf and allows dogs year round. At low tide, it has an awful lot of the fun, grainy stuff. We don't recommend you put it in your mouth though, despite what you might read on our signage. Naturally, we can't have you heading to the beach under-equipped - we're stocked to the gills with all sorts of buckets, spades, fold-away chairs and other beach essentials that will guarantee a fun day for all the family. Of course, as a cafe, what we do best is make good food, and a cracking pot of tea. We have a menu of hot and cold food that will suit all tastes, from the humble sandwich to takeaway pizza. We also serve Puro fair-trade coffee (It's our personal favourite) and of course we couldn't look ourselves in the mirror if we didn't serve good Cornish cream teas, pasties and delicious ice-creams, all locally made. We're licenced too, so if a cold beer or a glass of wine suits the mood, we can help you out. You can enjoy all this inside, outside on our new decking or viewing terrace, or of course down at the waters edge. We're open from the Easter holidays until the end of October every day but we're also open at weekends through the Winter.
