Don Giovanni's Italian restaurant at Temple Meads has been entertaining diners for the past 44 years.

But owner Andy Firetto will be hanging up his chef's whites because the building it's in is being redeveloped.

This is without question the best Italian restaurant Bristol has ever had. Andy is a phenomenal chef, and for over 40 years this place has been a constant opposite Bristol Temple Meads — welcoming locals, travellers, and generations of loyal diners with incredible food and genuine warmth.

I met my husband here 21 years ago today, and we’ve returned many times since, making memories over meals that never once disappointed. It’s woven into the story of our lives. Every visit felt special, whether it was a celebration or just a reason to enjoy truly great Italian cooking.

My husband always ordered the fish soup followed by the Rossini — absolute perfection every single time. Consistent, comforting, and clearly made by someone who deeply understands food.

The news that the business has to close is heartbreaking. Bristol is losing more than a restaurant; it’s losing a piece of its soul. Thank you, Andy, for the food, the memories, and the love you poured into this place for four decades. You will be forever missed. 🍷🇮🇹

'It's time to say goodbye' 😢

Due to an unprecedented and huge response from our much loved friends wanting to say farewell before our final service 17.1.26, we will now be opening on Mondays too, to enable us to say 'arrivederci' at the end of an incredible journey spanning 44 years.
