Hop aboard Volks Railway, trundle along the edge of the beach, and at the end of the line you'll find yourself at Black Rock with Reading Room waiting for you.

As it happens, today is also the first day of our new Summer menu. We can't think of a better excuse to take the scenic route 🛤🏖

Join us for Vincenzo’s Table, an intimate evening hosted by our very own Chef, Vincenzo Fuccilli.
Expect a menu inspired by Vincenzo's culinary roots, showcasing incredible ingredients, bold flavours and the dishes that have shaped his journey as a chef.

The best dishes always start with great ingredients (and some rather talented chefs 😉)

Right now we're making the most of the abundance of incredible produce, with vibrant vegetables taking centre stage. From sweet Nutbourne tomatoes bursting with flavour to English asparagus from the Wye Valley and beautiful Sussex-grown chard, it's a reminder of just how good British produce is!

Pictured no.1 : our golden sweetcorn fritter with spicy edamame, cherry tomatoes, carrot ribbons, fermented red cabbage and cashew cream. Fresh, colourful and packed with summer flavours.

Another gorgeous sunny day down at Reading Room ☀️

The terrace has been full of good coffee, sea air, long lunches and plenty of familiar faces all day. It’s been so lovely seeing everyone making the most of the sunshine with us by the beach.

Roasted just down the road in Brighton, this is the coffee we serve every day at Reading Room. Smooth, balanced and easy drinking, with enough depth to wake you up properly but mellow enough to sit with all morning.

Available to purchase in house too, so you can take a box home and enjoy the Reading Room blend from your own kitchen.

Best enjoyed slowly with the sea in front of you, a pastry on the table and nowhere urgent to be.
