What’s going on at the Ropemakers this weekend?
The weekend starts on Friday at 6pm with the weekly Charity Meat Draw with over ÂŁ130 worth of prizes! Get there early in order to buy tour ticket!

Friday (30th) evening’s music features the local talents of Zoe Schwarz Bluez Party starting at 8:30pm. They promise funky rocking blues with Zoe Schwarz-vocals, Rob Koral-guitar, Anth Caplen-bass, Ady Milward-drums & vocals ... rootsy original songs, strong catchy riffs 'n grooves, plus some cool 'n groovy covers..... mixing old school tradition with a contemporary swagger and verve... COME ON DOWN

Saturday (Halloween) sees the amazing dexterity of Shelby’s Elbows at 8:30pm - Shelby's Elbows are an acoustic duo, made up of Dorset musicians Martin P. Davies and Phil Jeffs. Formed after meeting in various Open Mic nights in 2008, Shelby’s Elbows have developed into a locally well-known entertainment duo, playing a variety of instruments and producing an instantly recognisable sound that surprises people when they discover that there’s only two people making it
A lighter sound is provided on Sunday afternoon at 4:00pm Ansell & Gretel. Formed in 2010, Ansell & Gretel are Jack Ansell and Jamie Parker. Together they have performed at some of best pubs and festivals all around the south coast. With a set of varied classic covers Ansell & Gretel are sure to play something for everyone all with their own added twist. Styles including Funk, Soul, Rock and Pop.

Another fine weekend of superb live music can be found at the Ropemakers with some of the best bands on the circuit.
Starting on Friday (23rd) the superb Bicycle Repair Man will play at 8:30pm. From Metallica to Mumford and Steve Earle to the Stereophics, no one is safe from their quirky folk style of covers. Throw some original and traditional songs into the mix and you’ve got a Bicycle Repair Man set. James and Matthew combine close vocal harmonies with mandolin melodies, rhythmic guitar work and intricate tenor riffs in an attempt to deliver a two man wall of sound.
Saturday sees the return of The Surfin' Birds at 8:30pm and are not to be missed as they deliver (as they sat themselves) psychosonic constellations are clearing so open your airwaves and countenance these cavalcades of swinging surf and raucous rockabilly. Thundering their way to a gathering near you this year secreting rustic rockabilly charm, allow their guttural guitars and dynamic drums to reverberate your reason and magnify the madness. Simply throw back your hair, whirl that waistline onwards and follow your frenzied feet to the searing sounds of Dorset's musical sensation that is The Surfin' Birds
Sunday (25th) sees a special collaboration – Mark & Andy (Two Man Traveling Medicine Show) – 4:00pm - Mark Lyons (singer songwriter) and Andy Jack Ratt (16 String Jack) will be playing a stripped back set of The Two Man Travelling Medicine Show's best songs.
