Very excited for our inspired Indian Supper next week. Drawn from recipes from the fantastic book, Bombay. The students have enjoyed selecting dishes from the book to curate a four course menu. They have learnt a little about the culture and the history of 'Oh Bombay, My Bombay'. From the Portuguese 'Bombaiyya' to the British shortened 'Bombay' the recipes are derived from the city Cyrus was born and of which holds powerful memories. Now named Mumbai after Mumbadevi, the goddess of fisherfolk, the city, as described by Cyrus is the best city in the world and a melting pot of cultures and cuisines.
We can't wait to share more next week and we may even be treated to a 'virtual' visit by the man himself.
Many thanks for inspiring our young Bridlington students. Bringing a bit of Bombay to Bridlington ๐ซถ
