It's in The Coffee Shack on display as our demo unit, the brand new Eureka Mignon Specialita Smart grinder. But is it smart?
Well it seems to be but it needs a bit of input from the operator, i.e. you! Create your recipe, say 18g of ground coffee to pour a 38g shot in 30 seconds and set the grind size to an espresso grind of say 50 and a grind time of 10 seconds.
The grinder will now grind at a setting of 50 for 10 seconds and you can weigh the grind. You manually need to change the time yourself if it's too much or too little but once you have your 18g put it in your newly purchased Lelit Bianca (what do you mean you don't have one) or your existing espresso machine and pour the shot with a timer. If the shot takes 18 seconds to pour hit the thumb, tell the grinder what the actual pour time was and it will suggest a correction. Make that correction, pour the shot and it will be surprisingly close.
Pop into The Coffee Shack and take a look for yourself and from just £499 this flat burr quality grinder is at the sensible end of the grinder market!
