🚨 HELP US PROTECT RIVINGTON – HAVE YOUR SAY! 🚨

We are asking our customers, local residents, visitors and everyone who loves Rivington to please take a few minutes to OBJECT to the proposed ANPR cameras and parking charges in Rivington.

πŸ“ Planning application: 26/00668/FUL
⏰ Deadline for objections: 27th August 2026

This isn’t just about parking. It could have a huge impact on our community, local businesses, employees, suppliers and everyone who enjoys coming to Rivington.

Our family business has been part of the Rivington community for over 40 years and three generations. We employ local people, buy local produce, support local charities and artisans, and run community events such as our Christmas markets.

We genuinely believe that introducing parking charges could discourage people from visiting Rivington. For a small, family-run business like ours, a reduction in visitors could have a serious impact on our future and potentially mean having to reduce staff or, ultimately, threaten the future of the business.

🌳 RIVINGTON WAS GIVEN TO THE PUBLIC

In 1902, Lord Leverhulme gifted Rivington to the public for public use and free open-air recreation.

Rivington has always been a place where people can come to walk, enjoy the countryside, breathe in the fresh air, meet friends and family and enjoy the outdoors.

We believe putting a financial barrier in place to access and enjoy this special area goes completely against the spirit of Lord Leverhulme’s gift.

This isn’t just about our business. It’s about Rivington as a community and a place for everyone.

✍️ PLEASE OBJECT AND HAVE YOUR SAY

You can submit your objection directly through the Chorley Council planning website.

Search for planning application:

πŸ‘‰ 26/00668/FUL

Please explain in your own words why you object and how you believe the proposals could affect you, your family, your business or your ability to enjoy Rivington.

You don’t have to write pages and pages – your own personal experience and views matter.

πŸ“‹ PAPER PETITION

We also have a paper copy of the petition available at work for anyone who would prefer to sign in person. Please pop in and add your name if you would like to support the campaign.

⏰ PLEASE NOTE: OBJECTIONS NEED TO BE SUBMITTED BY 27TH AUGUST 2026.

Please share this post, tag anyone who loves Rivington and encourage them to have their say before the deadline.

Let’s make sure the voices of the people who live, work in and love Rivington are heard.

RIVINGTON SHOULD REMAIN A PLACE FOR EVERYONE. ❀️🌳
