☀️ During a heatwave, check in on those who may need extra support.

A quick 📞 phone call, 💬 message, or 🚪 doorstep visit can help ensure older neighbours, young children, people living alone, and those with long-term health conditions:

💧 Stay hydrated
🏠 Keep cool indoors

A few things that could make a difference in the community❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️

❤️ Stay safe in extreme temperatures
Offer cool drinks regularly and make sure they have plenty of water stocked in the fridge.

Draw the curtains or blinds on sun-facing windows, and help them move to the coolest room in the house.

Collect essentials, or necessary medications so they do not have to go out in the midday heat.

Remind others that babies, young children pets or anyone must never be left in parked vehicles, even for a short time.

A quick check-in could make a big difference. ☀️

If anyone is passing the Clifton Arms and needs to hydrate we are offering free ice water

Our next King’s Trust TEAM Programme starts on 14 September 2026 at Blackburn Fire Station – and it's completely free.

Over 12 weeks, you'll have the chance to:

Build confidence and meet new people.

Gain valuable work experience.

Boost your CV and employability skills
Achieve a qualification (up to Level 2).

Earn certificates in First Aid, Health & Safety, Fire Safety and more.

Take part in team challenges and community projects.


Programme starts: 14 September 2026
Location: Blackburn Fire Station.
