I’ve got a couple of dates where I will be out and about with Connect More here in Birmingham.

On 29th August I will be Birmingham Museums as part of their “What we make here” series. Ill be in the industrial gallery asking you to sit and take a few moments out of your day.

Then on 18th September I will be taking part in Park(ing) Day an international festival that sees parking spaces changed into happening spaces! It’s the second year for BrumPark(ing)Day it will take place on Caroline street and Mary Street in the The Jewellery Quarter

Come sit, stitch and spend some time

Stitch is the flux for conversation, simple stitches that are used the world over.

Time to get the stars out again!

I’ve used these small plastic canvas stars for many years. They are a great way to quietly step in to someone’s space, attainable but have many finishing options.

I’m starting a small project with Refugee and Migrant Centre 🧡 today and looking forward to creating stars and ideas!

Back to it after some lovey time away in France and Switzerland. This is Montreux, so colourful.

I’ve had a fabulous few weeks away camping in France and Switzerland.

I didn’t pick up my needle once!

One of the highlights was going to Bex & Arts triennial. A sculpture trail in a fantastic outdoor space. My favourite was a mini museum celebrating incredible rocks, building a story around the unexplainable.

There’s a lot to see but I won’t spoil it incase you get the chance to go. All I will say is that a gigantic geranium, a picture that grows over time and a wrought iron fence all feature!

After a week of talking, sharing and listening about at Birmingham Healing Arts lad week it was brilliant to be doing again.

I spent the weekend it this liddle tent stitching one to one with over 30 people who happened on the space that was a bit tucked away from the rest of the festival.

Conversations big, small and quiet were had.

The Neighbourhood Futures Festival Birmingham Settlement Nature & Wellbeing Centre goes from strength to strength, caring for the community that surrounds it and inviting people from all over to come a benefit from a weekend in nature.

There’s worse places to be when you stitch for a living!

This is my local festival it’s called run by Birmingham Settlement

“Founded in 1899 …part of a movement of social reform activists outraged by the plight of the poor in the 19th century, originally Birmingham Settlement’s work concentrated on providing support to women and families in the seriously deprived St Mary’s area, now known as Newtown.”

Over a century of care and welcome.
