The Kings Arms offers a fantastic onsite restaurant, bar and coffee lounge, meeting & conference room and wedding venue as well as a selection of 26 fresh and stylish hotel rooms to suit your business or leisure needs. Located on Hide Hill in the centre of Berwick upon Tweed, a historic coastal town and the Northernmost town in England, The Kings Arms is only a short walk from the town’s main train station as well as shops, restaurants and attractions which include the old walls that surround the town and the old castle ruins as well as The Maltings Theatre & Art Centre. The surrounding areas and attractions include Alnwick Castle & Gardens, location of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films which is on 40 minutes away while Holy Island is 25 minutes away. The Kings Arms Hotel dates back to the 18th century, when it was a coaching inn known as the Hotel on Hide Hill. The hotel had famous visitors such as writers Charles Dickens and Lewis Carrol. By the end of the 19th century, the Kings Arms became central to the town's social life and was a base for the merchants and traders of the former corn exchange at the bottom of Hide Hill. All of our rooms have been refurbished to a high standard and come with en suite bathrooms, 26” LED TV with digital channels, free access to Wi-Fi and tea and coffee making facilities.

Our Christmas Day menu includes a Glass of Bucks Fizz on arrival, followed by your choice of starter, a refreshing lemon sorbet, main course and dessert.

From Traditional Roast Turkey with all the festive trimmings to Venison Medallions, Slow-Cooked Shin of Beef, Smoked Haddock Risotto and our Butternut Squash & Beetroot Wellington, there’s something for everyone around the table.

Look no further! At the Kings Arms Hotel, we offer Afternoon Tea, available to book between 2:00pm and 4:00pm, Monday to Saturday — £15 per person.

Enjoy a selection of freshly homemade sandwiches, traybakes, scones, and quiche, accompanied by your choice of tea or coffee. Or, treat yourself and add a glass of prosecco for an additional cost! 🥂
