Think espresso is just for fancy machines? Think again.
A great espresso is all about balance - and once you understand the basics, you can dial it in at home.
Here's what to aim for:
⚖️ Dose: 18-20g of freshly ground coffee
💧 Yield: 36-40g of espresso in the cup (a 1:2 ratio)
⏱️ Time: 25-30 seconds from first drop to last
🌡️ Temperature: 92-96°C
Too bitter? Grind coarser or shorten the shot.
Too sour? Grind finer or pull a little longer.
It takes a few attempts - but when you nail it, there's nothing better ☕
