We are extremely disappointed and concerned by the recent Belfast Live article regarding an individual who has been returned to custody following a breach of his bail conditions.

We want to be clear that there was no “lock-in” at our premises on 14 June 2025, as has been alleged by the person involved. He has no connection to our business and is unknown to our staff.

This article is the first time we have been made aware of this alleged incident. We were never contacted by the police regarding the matter or asked to verify whether this individual had been on our premises or whether a lock-in had taken place.

We are a family run establishment who take the safety of our customers extremely seriously and strive to maintain a good reputation within our local community. Had we been aware of this individual’s background and the abhorrent offences for which he was convicted, he would not have been welcome on our premises.

Whilst we fully respect the media’s role in reporting court proceedings, we are deeply unhappy that our business has been publicly named and photographed in connection with this case; especially as it is based on false allegations made by this person. We therefore feel it is important to make our position absolutely clear.
