Mona's Cafe is officially an adult! 🎂🥂
Today marks exactly 18 years since we first opened our doors here in Belfast on St Patrick's day 2008, and we can hardly believe it!
Just to put into perspective how long that is, let’s take a quick trip back to the week we opened:
🎶 On the Radio: Duffy was completely dominating the UK charts, sitting at Number 1 with both her single Mercy and her debut album Rockferry.
⚽ In the Premier League: Manchester United were sitting at the top of the table on their way to winning the title, and Cristiano Ronaldo was the runaway top goal scorer.
🍿 At the Cinema: We were all flocking to the cinema to watch The Dark Knight and Step Brothers, or renting a weekend film at Xtra-vision
📱 The Tech: The very first iPhone had only just come out, so you were most likely organizing your meet-ups at Mona's on a BlackBerry or flipping open a Motorola Razr!
Fast forward 18 years, and while the charts, the football, and the phones might have changed, our love for serving this community hasn't changed a bit.
Whether you've been visiting us since the flip-phone era or you just found us last week, THANK YOU. We literally couldn't have reached this milestone without your amazing support, loyalty, and appetite.
