Full-Time Café Manager – Weekend Availability Required

Koi Café is looking for an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Full-Time Café Manager to lead our team and help drive the continued growth and success of the business.

This is a varied role that requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a willingness to support all areas of the café operation, including covering kitchen duties when required. Weekend working is essential.

Key Responsibilities

* Managing the day-to-day operation of the café.
* Leading, motivating, and supporting the café team.
* Ensuring excellent customer service standards are maintained at all times.
* Managing staff rotas, holidays, and shift cover.
* Covering kitchen staff annual leave and assisting in the kitchen when required.
* Placing orders with suppliers and managing stock levels.
* Monitoring food and beverage costs and reducing waste where possible.
* Cashing up and completing end-of-day financial procedures.
* Ensuring accurate record keeping and compliance documentation.
* Maintaining compliance with Environmental Health Officer (EHO) regulations and company standards.
* Conducting stock takes and managing inventory.
* Recruiting, training, and developing team members.
* Handling customer feedback and resolving issues professionally.
* Monitoring business performance and identifying opportunities for growth.
* Assisting with marketing initiatives, promotions, and events.
* Working closely with senior management to progress and develop the business.
* Ensuring the café is clean, organised, safe, and welcoming at all times.
* Maintaining health and safety, food hygiene, and allergen compliance standards.
* Supporting front-of-house and back-of-house operations whenever required.

Requirements

* Previous management experience within hospitality, catering, or a café environment.
* Must be available to work weekends.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
* Experience with stock control, ordering, and cash handling.
* Good understanding of food hygiene, health and safety, and EHO requirements.
* Ability to work under pressure and lead by example.
* A proactive approach with a focus on improving and growing the business.
* Flexible and willing to assist in all areas of the operation, including kitchen duties when required.

Working alongside our chef, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and helping to maintain high standards of food preparation, cleanliness, and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

* Assisting the chef with food preparation and basic cooking tasks.
* Preparing ingredients and ensuring they are ready for service.
* Maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen at all times.
* Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
* Assisting with stock rotation and storage of deliveries.
* Supporting the completion of food safety and kitchen records to ensure compliance with Environmental Health Officer (EHO) regulations and Koi Café standards.
* Following food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety procedures.
* Helping with opening and closing kitchen duties.

🍽 Front of House Assistant Weekday Zero Hours - Great for school run parents(x1)

Duties include:
Serving customers with a smile
Cash handling

👩‍🍳Cafe Manager Fixed Contract (x1)
As a Cafe Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of a busy café, ensuring excellent customer service and smooth operations. Your role includes serving as a barista, preparing high-quality drinks, and stepping into the kitchen to provide cover during the chef’s annual leave. You will be responsible for till operation, cash handling, and end-of-day cashing up.

You will manage staff rotas, ensuring adequate cover while maintaining efficiency and controlling labour costs. A key part of the role involves café development identifying opportunities to improve service, increase revenue, and enhance the overall customer experience.

Strong people skills and solid business awareness are essential. You’ll lead, train, and motivate staff, handle customer feedback professionally, and maintain a positive team environment. Additional responsibilities include stock control and ordering, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, monitoring financial performance, implementing promotions, and ensuring the café meets its sales and quality targets.

✅ What we’re looking for:

Applicants aged 16+
Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene and Allergy Awareness training is a bonus (training will be provided if needed)
Availability to work most weekends and throughout school holidays is essential
All positions are zero-hour contracts, with more shifts available during school holidays
