I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to comment, send a message, or reach out after my post. I honestly wasn't expecting such an outpouring of kindness and support, and I've read every single message. Your words have meant more than I can say and have helped make an incredibly difficult time. ❤️

As we begin this new chapter, we'll also be saying goodbye to the café in a practical way.

From Friday 24th July, and then every Friday and Saturday until everything has gone, we'll be holding a table top sale at the café. There'll be café equipment, furniture, kitchen items, homeware, toys, and lots of other bits and pieces looking for a new home.

Every penny raised will go directly back into Chorus West Lothian CIC Thanks to our reduced overheads, the money raised will help us continue to offer our future ASN classes completely free of charge, making them accessible to the families who need them most.

If you're looking for a bargain, fancy a browse, or would simply like to support what we're doing, we'd love to see you. Please feel free to share this post with anyone who might be interested too.

Thank you again for standing by us and believing in what we're trying to achieve. Your support means that, although one chapter is ending, an even more important one can continue. 💙

I had hoped to record a video to explain all of this, but every time I tried, I became too emotional to get the words out. So I'm writing this instead.

After a lot of thought, I've made the incredibly difficult decision to close the café.

This isn't a decision I've made lightly, and it's certainly not because I wanted to give up. The café was opened with one purpose – to fund Chorus West Lothian CIC and provide a safe space for children and their families.

Over the past couple of months, though, I've effectively been running two businesses while also trying to be the best mum I can be. Even after reducing the café's opening hours, the workload behind the scenes never really changed.

My health has taken a real knock. I've had one illness after another, and my current one has now lasted over six weeks. It's become clear that I simply can't continue trying to do everything without it costing me my wellbeing.

Making this decision has been heartbreaking. I've gone back and forth so many times, but I've realised that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is accept that something has to change.

I know this news may disappoint some people, and I'm truly sorry for that. To everyone who has visited the café, supported us, volunteered, encouraged us, or simply cheered us on – thank you. Every coffee bought and every kind word meant more than you know.

Closing the café doesn't mean I'm walking away from my dream. Quite the opposite. It means I'm choosing to focus my time and energy on the reason I started this journey in the first place.

Thank you for your understanding, your kindness, and for continuing to support the work we're doing. I hope you'll stay with us on the next chapter of this journey. ❤️

☕ A New Chapter for Chorus Café and a wee apology

I would like to apologise for the sparse opening hours over the last couple of weeks, my health has nit been great but I am on the mend!

I would also like to share an important update about our opening hours and the future of Chorus Café.

Many of you know that Chorus Café was created to help fund the work of Chorus West Lothian CIC, supporting children and young people with additional support needs and their families.

As our community has grown, we've seen an increasing need for family support sessions, children's activities, workshops and community drop-ins. To make more space for these services, we have decided to adjust our café opening hours.

Going forward, the café will be open to the public on:

☕ Tuesdays: 10am–12pm (drop in sessions)
☕ Fridays: 10am–3pm
☕ Saturdays: 10am–3pm

The good news is that our catering services are not changing.

🎉 Outside catering for parties and events will continue as normal.
🧁 Takeaway afternoon teas will still be available to order throughout the week.
📞 We will continue taking bookings and enquiries outside café opening hours.

These changes will allow our premises to be used more fully for the community while ensuring the café continues to provide the services our customers love.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, ordered from us, visited us and recommended us. We look forward to welcoming you on Fridays and Saturdays and continuing to cater for your special occasions throughout the week.
